business class on a long haul is pretty damn nice for about 10K. Why wouldn't he? Doesn't seem the kind of guy that would load up a private plane with skanks and blow.

I’ve flown first class to Narita from Dallas. I’ve also flown on a Lear 60 from Houston to San Juan Puerto Rico. Lear 60 won’t make it across the Pacific but I’d be tempted to take first class on a 777 over a G-V anyway.

Smart man saving money, a charter flight to Japan wouldn’t be cheap. If I had just won the Masters though I think I’d have to make an exception and go home in comfort.

Not sure Netjets (or any private service) has planes with the legs to fly to Japan from the continental US. I might be wrong, but I think most of those private jets are for shorter hops overall (less than 2,500 miles). It's almost 4,000 miles from Honolulu to Japan.

@Sauron, many charter services have big enough jets. I helped research it when my company wanted to send me to Qatar

It is roughly 6,852 miles or 14 hours from Atlanta to Tokyo. There are planes that can make that trip. It can probably done for less than $100k. Hell, even if they got a smaller plane and had to make fuel stop it would be worth it.
