Georgia AD Josh Brooks met with the athletic board this week to talk about Stanford Stadium returning to full capacity crowds for the upcoming football season.

Brooks also revealed that concessions prices will be reduced in the stadium, which is something Bulldogs fans will love. Per OnlineAnthens.com:

Fans will see price cuts of close to 50 percent for some concession stand items including at Sanford Stadium: $2 Bottled water, $2.50 bottled soda, $2.50 hot dogs, $2 candy and $2 for a small popcorn and $5 for a large popcorn bucket.

“I’ve been in enough of our venues and I’ve watched a family walk up to a concession stand,” Brooks said. “I don’t want that family of four to pay $40 or more to feed their family. That’s not the experience I want to create.”

“It’s not always about profits at every turn,” he said.
Is it time for other schools in the SEC to make this move?

Nice move! Everyone in the SEC should follow suit. These universities rake in enough cash as it is.

Still making bank on $2 bottle of water using mostly volunteers to sell. Good move though. Think they are still allowing you to bring in one unopened bottle of water also which is nice.

LSU AD will never ever never ever even contemplate this. Make less money in exchange for a better fan experience? That's the EXACT OPPOSITE of the LSU Athletic Deparment mission.

Gotta think they won't even be losing that much money once you factor in the increase volume of sales the lower prices will bring. Keeps fans happier and coming to games. Win-Win-Win

Getting butts in seats is hard with so many options people have with their time. Also new habits were formed last fall. People may not go to 7 or 8 games a year. They may cut back because they enjoyed the free time created by not going to the slog that game day has become. I think ticket prices are likely to soften Over the next 5 years. The schools that figure out how to keep the seats full by improving the experience will win long term. A good start would be chairback seating with a cup holder. This would reduce capacity, but I think people want better seating than an aluminum bleacher.
