Is this the same Landry family that the Miss USA from Breaux Bridge came from?

Was driving through Breaux Bridge, La about two months ago and noticed a building in front of which hung flags from every Ivy Leage school plus Stanford, MIT and other notable colleges. I was curious as to what this was all about so I turned around and stopped to investigate. I was greeted at the front desk by a young man and lady wearing Yale and Columbia sweatshirts . They were freshman there and had returned to visit their school. It was a school run my Mr Landry and his wife. He had seen me walk in and immediately greeted me with a wave of enthusiasm and energy eager to show me around. He explained he grew up in the projects of a Breaux Bridge and had made his way to Wall Street in New York as an investment banker. He had shucked the whole carreer after amassing substantial wealth for a higher calling...to educate the poor and disadvantaged so that they could escape the cycle of poverty. Everyone deserves a chance and anyone, no matter his circumstance can achieve and reach his potential. I'm a fan.

Im going to be super cynical for a second.....did he get any scholarships? I actually know like 10 people that "got accepted" into Harvard and none of them went. Obviously it means you are a good student and its a cool accolade. But its basically Harvard telling you "congrats you are smart enough for us to allow you to pay us 100K a year". Basically this kid is smart enough to go to Harvard.

You're a fcking moron. That is a 16 year old getting accepted into one of the hardest most prestigious universities in the world. Get your head checked asap.

If your family income is under 100k, you get a full ride (room and board).

Correct: it will not cost him a dime. Institutions like Harvard, Yale, Columbia have multi billion dollar endowments from which to fund student grants which is is money you don't pay back. Columbia's endowment is $10 Billion. Compare that yo LSU at only $788 million. My 2 daughters graduated from Columbia with less than $20k in student debt each. Both are now MBA's from Harvard and NYU Stern. That $20k debt was extinguished immediately with their signing bonus after graduation. Getting a degree from Harvard or Columbia is huge for these kids and money will not be an obstacle.

What does race have to do with getting in to Harvard? This kid got in because he worked hard and is smart. You "got rejected" because you're an idiot.
