This is kid is amazing. I thought he was just enjoying the ride as he made his way towards home plate, nope...

His coach told him to run to home as fast as he can and this was the result.

This hits home. I feel like this is what my three year old does every morning if we dare mention that we are in a hurry to get to school.

All I see here is a kid that has already come to the conclusion that he doesn't have to listen to the adults in his life. It looks cute here but make no mistake he walks all over his parents. Parents who if you ask them probably say stupid shite like how they will get him to start listening when he's older

My dad would have called me a smartass and spanked me when I got back to the dugout.

Man I would have gotten tore up! My old man was my teeball coach...and if I did something just to spite him like that...it would not have been pretty. Sorry folks...I didn't grow up in a #participationtrophygeneration. My ole man didn't stand for that.

The kid was just having fun. Let him do it once but then tell him to stop but you would get beat, for that? For being a kid? Man, rough.

Well DoubleDown...you gotta know my Dad. Former US Marine. Former Navy Seabee/Vietnam Vet. He didn't believe in doing stuff half-arse. If you did it, you did it right. I wouldn't have gotten my arse tore up for being a kid...I would have gotten my arse tore up for not doing what he told me to do...if I had done something like that without being told to "run fast"....he would have been just like all the other parents and laughed it off (and then privately told me not to draw attention to myself). It's the acting out after being told something else that would have gotten me in trouble.

To be honest, at that age, I'm not even sure I knew how to act so cynically disrespectful. I mean, sure, I disobeyed adults. But I'm pretty sure I never rubbed it in their faces so blatantly. That probably didn't start until my "rebellious" teenage years. I'm fairly concerned for this kid and his parents.

Im 48, my parents were fair and tough. He wouldnt have given a shite if I was a card in a t ball game...you know, because it is a t ball game. As a matter of fact that looks like wee tee. No score, no nothing. Every person on every team I was ever on got a trophy at the end of the season which is what happens with my kids. I dont see no difference with what happens now.
