A coach got arrested during a Pee Wee football game in Ohio this week after an altercation between the opposing team's coaches and later a referee, Per ABC 6...
quote:

Christopher Deason spent about 24 hours in jail after chaos at the Licking Valley versus Watkins “biddie football” game for 5th graders. Investigators said there was a scuffle between players and referees were trying to break up the fight when the coaches then got involved. “The officials went to break it up and the Watkins coach felt he was a little too aggressive and shouldn’t have touched his player," Chief Deputy Chad Dennis said.

“There were multiple people jumping fence trying to get onto the field chaos to say the least,” said Dennis. “There is no reason to ever get on the field. The game is there and officials there to officiate and ensure safety of the kids and there’s issues there is ways to address it after the game.”

Deputies said Deason was also involved in a second conflict with a parent, where he punched him in the face. Deason was taken to jail and pleaded not guilty to the charges at his video arraignment. He was later released on his own recognizance.

My nephew’s game last night. Licking Valley vs. Watkins Memorial 11-12 year olds, in Hanover, Ohio. Valley is in red (my nephew’s team). Watkins is in yellow. Final score was 8-0. Footnote: Before this happened Watkins had been given essentially a fifth down because my nephew picked off a deep pass on Watkins’ fourth down. He went to his knees with the INT and then got stripped on the ground where the ball was picked up and ran into the endzone by Watkins. Referees didn’t know what to call so they gave Watkins the ball back with like 2 seconds left on the clock. Valley shut the second Hail Mary down and the shoving happened right after Valley’s victory formation. Things were heated to say the least.

The sheriff said a referee who stepped in and broke it up was then physically confronted by 37-year-old Christopher Deason, who is a coach for Watkins area team.

After a little shoving match between kids, it always nice to have adults with cooler heads step in.

QB #9 started the whole damn thing. Should have just walked off the field instead of taunting the other team.
