Y’all remember the ‘06 NFC Championship game at Soldier Field? I remember. Not the result, that was fairly adjudicated in the Bears’ favor; the extremely shitty Chicago fans. But that was to be expected. Shitty humans = shitty fans.

I remember the signs that said “Chicago Bears-Finishing What Katrina Started.” That was one of the most classless things I’ve ever seen.

Sumrall was a smart hire for Tulane after Fritz left.

The opposite would be ULL. The Cajuns hired their Chris Scelfo/"One of Us" with Michael Desormeaux, who just was completely unprepared for his Remodeled Stadium Opener against lowly Rice.

IDK if we've all being saying that last name the wrong way for decades...we may have. But when he starts calling himself Desa mo rather than Des or mo like it's always been pronounced...something's off.

ULL made a dumb hire to replace Gaypier but not as dumb as UF for hiring slingblade away from US!

There's more to this than the report or the Tulane coach says.

Uniform changes are usually done months ahead of time. This request was made two weeks before, and Northwestern had already gotten uniforms prepared and special decals for the helmets.

Smart move by sumrall. He takes a shot at northwestern in the name of the people of New Orleans and gets some kudos from them but won’t risk any blowback from angry northwestern fans becuase there aren’t any northwestern fans in the first place

Yeah, that’s not disrespect. He might be looking for disrespect and call it disrespect but that ain’t it.

Sorry but it could be to people that suffered in all the massive devastation of Katrina.

Whether it was “disrespectful” or not, it was a chickenshit move. The anniversary of Katrina means a whole lot to families who got displaced, like my parents and sister’s family.

I do not know if such bulletin board things actually affect the outcome of games. Maybe the NW coach thought the white jerseys might give the home team and crowd some inspiration. If I was one who believed in bulletin board stuff, I would worry that denying the home team a simple request for Tulane to honor their city and remember Katrina would create more bulletin board material than letting them wear their jersey choice. And it wasnt just the city of NO that got devastated, there was some question whether Saints or Tulane football would ever return to the city.

I am okay with calling the move disrespectful, but classless or chicken shite would work for me too.

That’s a long post for having no context. You don’t even know when the request was made. NW may have been in a position where they couldn’t wear a different jersey. But do go off with your whining
