This is a tough one. Check out this 4th-and-9 play by Peach County in the Georgia High School State Championship Game that the refs called an incomplete pass. Warning, language NSFW...

Apparently, the school’s principal sent a letter to the president of Georgia High School Athletics. As well as there's a petition circulating to have instant replay become available in state title games.

and this is not the best angle. There is one from the sideline of the endzone that clearly shows the catch, the steps, the stretch and the ball clearing the goal line before coming out.

caught the ball and took 3 steps. No knee down, ball clearly crossed goal line before fumble. 100% touchdown. Horrific call. Where was the back judge, who could've come over and discussed with the ref who called it incomplete?

That wouldn't be the back judge's call. That is 100% the Side Judge's call. He was slightly out of position fading into the endzone when he should have held the goal line, but realized his mistake and got back to the goal line. That's a very bad call. I could see him calling him down short or TD, but to call it incomplete is a very bad call.

It wasn't a TD but it was a completion down to the half yard line. I hate what the NFL has done to catches.

Wut....you're blind! No knee down anywhere in that replay..ball crosses GL and ground can't cause a fumble = TD! Need instant replay in State Championship games!

Horrible call but it's the type of bad call that can happen live. Need instant replay.

He caught it and then certainly made a few steps before hitting the ground and fumbling. But then the ball appears to go out of the endzone? I don't know what the right call is here?

Ummmm once he crosses the goal line its a touchdown. I see the Falcons let that ref from Thursday night stay at the stadium for the High School Championships

You'll see that ref working the Saints/Falcons rematch Dec 24th.

Sort of like the Dez Bryant play in 2014 put even more so. The dude had control of the ball and was reaching for the endzone.

Dez caught that ball.

That ref should never ref another game at any level. Either totally incompetent or he was on the take.

SEC caliber refs right there folks.

Sucks for those players. It appears that the NFL's inconsistency on what makes a catch is trickling down to even the HS level.

If that's incomplete than I have no idea what a completion is. That play has been a completion my entire life. Where are they coming up with these new interpretations?

I've been saying it for years. GHSA headquarters needs to be moved out of Calhoun, GA.

Isn't it in Thomaston, GA?
