I don't know if this is true, but the reason may be because they don't have the permission of his tattoo artist to do it. I think that's how it is with the Madden game too.

Hard to say that the athletes can't eat when they have tattoos all over the place...

Yall realize there are hundreds of athletes/celebs with visible tattoos that have their pictures taken and used in media or official promo materials without any of their tats photoshopped out.

Tattoos and piercings have been around since tribal times (was part of rites of passages) and it's a form of expression.

Now I don't have any myself, but I never saw a problem with them.

There was a tattoo artist who tried to sue. Case was dropped. Artist would never win that, but Madden and others now mandate a written agreement from the artist signing over copywrite to the athlete. So yeah, that could be the reason they took that precaution.
