Appearing Sunday morning on ESPN's SportsCenter, via Saturday Down South, Paul Finebaum dismissed Nick Saban's reasoning for his Alabama team deserving a playoff bid...
quote:

"While Nick Saban has some interesting arguments, they are not winning arguments," Finebaum said. "His arguments and his campaign are as inconsistent as his football team was this year. They just simply don’t fly."

"As far as being favored in every game, that’s great. Nick Saban’s always favored," Finebaum continued. "He’s only been the underdog I think once in his 15 years. Does that mean Nick Saban should have 15 national championships at Alabama instead of six? That’s not how this is done."

Finebaum would sell out his MAMA for a buck

Solid take by Pawl. Really nice to see him go against his homerism.

Almost like he isn’t a homer

I think he’s just moving his homerism to UGA. He’s jumped off the bama band wagon.

If there were any possible way to hate Saban more than I already do but he’s gone and outdone himself. Like a used car salesman. If Bama makes the playoff over a 1 loss TCU then the entire system is fricked.

I am sure he will be upset to know you hate him, haha! LSU people hate Alabama and Saban no matter the situation. Saban was advocating for his team and most coaches would do it if given the chance.

You do realize Brian Kelly advocated for ND to get in the playoffs last year when they ended up at No. 5? It was in an SI article and published in several other places. Kelly made the case for his team, it didn't work but he still went to bat for them. If he does this at LSU will it upset you?

I've been a ALABAMA fan for a long time. I've been around long enough to have witnessed Coach Bryant coach for nearly tow decades, before he retired. This years ALABAMA team didn't earn their way into the CFP. It was close, but close doesn't cut it. Lest's hope that Saban wakes up and realizes that both his coordinators are severely lacking, and were the reasons for the extremely mediocre season, by ALABAMA standards. As far as Finebaum, he's the Howard Stern of the sports world. Nothing more than a Shock jock who will flip/flop and say anything for attention, and ratings !

Getting on ESPN nd begging for 24 hours straight got him to the natty in 2011. They gave Bammer Okie State's place.

Then Bammer proceeded to humiliate lsu at home.

Okie State lost to an Iowa State team that ended up with 7 losses that year. Alabama vs LSU was the correct choice, you know it as well!

Yes LCL. Both OSU and the gumps had a loss but the gumps had lost to LSU so to rematch was unheard of. Saban sucking dick on ESPN for 24 got his team in. LSU was not up for a game their opponent had not earned, and took an arse whooping for it.

"Let's just get the best teams in there", and that's what they did. Thank you, Nick, for your concern.

Its the 4 best teams. I am not saying Bama is one, but TCU doesn't belong in there.

yes they do. they have one loss, during a Championship game. and lost by three points in overtime. end of story.

Pawwwl was just channeling his inner Gny. Sgt. Hartman.

Saban didn't have the common courtesy to give finebaum a reach around while sticking it in his arse.

Do we appreciate how difficult it must have been, for F-bom, to remove Saban's sack from his mouth, and criticize him...

I am so happy LSU best that arse and was the straw that broke the Camel’s Back which kept Bama out of the CFP.

Bama fans defending the groveling is so sad lol. Looks like people are finally tired of Saban and his inconsistent logic. Arguing hypothetical point spreads now lmao

It’s over Nick. You lost. LSU kept you out.

Why are you and your fellow LSU fans so triggered by him still? At some point you have to move on. 95% of the vitriol has come from your fanbase and maybe a few Auburn fans. He made his case, it didn't work, move on!

Still left out

Just to be clear: bama and all their desperation paths to getting in still did not get in the playoffs

Its hilarious how even in a year when we didnt make the playoff (second time ever) Alabama is still the topic of everyones convos. Rent free.

I’m glad to see that Saban’s begging and ESPN’s shilling still wasn’t enough to get Bama in the CFP
