Appearing Sunday morning on ESPN's SportsCenter, via Saturday Down South, Paul Finebaum dismissed Nick Saban's reasoning for his Alabama team deserving a playoff bid...
quote:

"While Nick Saban has some interesting arguments, they are not winning arguments," Finebaum said. "His arguments and his campaign are as inconsistent as his football team was this year. They just simply don’t fly."

"As far as being favored in every game, that’s great. Nick Saban’s always favored," Finebaum continued. "He’s only been the underdog I think once in his 15 years. Does that mean Nick Saban should have 15 national championships at Alabama instead of six? That’s not how this is done."

Nick's case hinges on losing 2 games on last play. He failed to mention that he won 2 games on the last play, with 1 being to an unranked team.

Interesting take Nick. Let’s see your response when a reporter asks you about being the favored team before any given game next season. I’m sure your response will be patient and measured regarding the comparison of team talent prior to a match up.

need to extend the playoff asap LSU beat Bama though, and for LSU, losing to Alabama all these years meant we didn't make top 4...so they can kiss my ass...

Paul Finebaum is a stain on the southeastern portion of this country. He makes his money making fun of the dumb southerners that call into his show to a national audience who eats it up because they all believe they are superior to us. He is the Jerry Springer of sports. It's not an actual sports show really. It's a variety show where they sometimes talk about sports. I'll be glad when the country's obsession with him is over. I say all of this in agreement with what he said right there, but he's still a piece of sh@t.

It really is sad seeing him groveling on national tv. I recall him saying if you don’t win your conference you shouldn’t be in. Until he didn’t win the conference then his opinion changed. Now it’s you don’t even have to win your division just use the old point spread as the true test lmao

Does Finebaum offer a better argument? Really, bama doesn't have much of an argument to make.

I’m glad to see that Saban’s begging and ESPN’s shilling still wasn’t enough to get Bama in the CFP

Just to be clear: bama and all their desperation paths to getting in still did not get in the playoffs

Its hilarious how even in a year when we didnt make the playoff (second time ever) Alabama is still the topic of everyones convos. Rent free.

Bama fans defending the groveling is so sad lol. Looks like people are finally tired of Saban and his inconsistent logic. Arguing hypothetical point spreads now lmao

It’s over Nick. You lost. LSU kept you out.

Why are you and your fellow LSU fans so triggered by him still? At some point you have to move on. 95% of the vitriol has come from your fanbase and maybe a few Auburn fans. He made his case, it didn't work, move on!

I am so happy LSU best that arse and was the straw that broke the Camel’s Back which kept Bama out of the CFP.

Do we appreciate how difficult it must have been, for F-bom, to remove Saban's sack from his mouth, and criticize him...
