Alabama head coach Nick Saban believes that college football rivalries are being ruined all this conference realignment...
quote:

“There are a lot of traditions that we’ve had for a long time in college football. I think we’re in a time of evolution for whatever reason. And some of those traditions are going to get sort of pushed by the wayside, I think, and it’s sad,” Saban said Sunday.

“Whether it’s good, bad or indifferent for college football — I guess you have to define what is good and bad for college football. So, I think one thing I would just hope that we would keep in mind in all the choices and decisions we make relative to what we do in college athletics is the student-athlete."

“They’re here to get an education and try to help them develop careers on and off the field. And hopefully, some of the choices and decisions that we make for college athletics in the future will impact them in a positive way. And I hope that we can keep that as a priority in terms of whatever we decide to do in the future with college football and college athletics”.

Only tradition he likes is the one where he has an easy win against Tenn.

If they were in college for an education they sure as hell wouldn't be going to Alabama as a first choice.

He’s not wrong they are playing a dangerous game with college football that could go either way.

He didnt seem to mind marching with players during BLM, there's always a double standard w/ him.

He’s right. The sport was great the way it was. Now the pageantry and tradition of CFB is being ripped up so a few people can make a couple more $. And I hope it backfires on those people.

He was ok paying them when it wasn’t legal. He’s scared to play on a level playing field now that’s he’s old as shite

New rivalries will form. Not that big a deal.

Disagree. Some of these rivalries go back generations through families. The regional ties are what make/made them meaningful.

I’d be gone too, esp after all he’s accomplished. With NIL and the portal idk, why anyone would want to be a CFB coach today.

Funny coming from the man who doesn’t want 9 conference games to keep the rivalries
