You are so right....the college game is essentially being destroyed and it all started with the media and cohorts forcing a change in the national championships followed by the egregious money issue for players. It's been in a downward spiral since and no end in sight. Now there are two super conferences calling for more expansion plus expanded playoff all capped off with out of control, unregulated NIL and free agency. Next the pro teams will "adopt" a college(s) as a farm team and supply capital To the players as future captive draft choices. There is really no end to the money train and where it can take college sport. The end result...who gives a rats arse about
the institution including the athletes.

There are 11,000 college football players in the portal....600 plus with 4 stars or better....what muck up this is...the end of continuity and the beginning of chaos topped off with NIL. Really should end scholarships and recruiting..and from a practical matter makes recruiting less important.

Well to all you that pushed for paying athletes in college...welcome to the new world. You wanted it you got it ... and it will get worse. Don't blame Kelly.

The reality....none of that crap matters. if you get in a frenzy over I wud hate to see you in a real difficult situation....keep toilet paper handy.

In very short order it will be the NFL...and "college" football is gone.

So the chase for money has turned college football into the mini NFL....pretty soon they'll be playing 18 games...the kids won't need to go to class...and the most money from NIL wins. The school and conference will be meaningless and the traditions of the game will be lost to history. The "new" traditions will lack the long term ties to "alma mater" and getting one for the Gipper...it'll all be getting one for the bucks. The "new" fan will never know what he/she missed as the focus changes very quickly to win at any cost and time sensitive betting becomes prevalent. It won't be I want to play for LSU ... it's how much you gonna give me. Enjoy.

They already are...the portal and nil are making a mockery of college sports.

NCAA should have drafts for each sport..once a year. Limit NIL payments and colleges should eliminate scholarships to NIL recipients.
