Averion Hurts, the father of Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts recently spoke with Bleacher Report and suggested that his son could transfer if he doesn't beat out Tua Tagovailoa for the starting job. Per CBS Sports:
quote:

"Coach Saban's job is to do what's best for his team. I have no problem with that," Averion Hurts said. "My job is to do what's best for Jalen -- and make no mistake, Jalen is a quarterback, and he wants to play quarterback. He loves Alabama, loves Coach Saban and everything about that place. But he wants to play, and he will play."

The elder Hurts seems to think highly of his son's impact in the transfer market.

"Well, he'd be the biggest free agent in college football history," he said, according to the report.

Wonder how well Hurts will do behind an offensive line that actually gets called for holding?

Overconfident considering his sons lack of arm

He isn't overconfident, he's being real! Hurts phone would ring off the hook if he left Bama.

"Well, he'd be the biggest free agent in college football history," Y'all think he'll get more to sign with another school than he got from Alabama?

I was onboard until the biggest free agent crap. That's complete and utter bullshite. Jalen is good but come on bro. You can't be this dumb, even if it's your own child.

I hate Alabama. It would be interesting if he transferred to Lane Kiffin's team...

He would prob be dangerous in Gus' offense though he doesn't have the arm that Nick Marshall had

If Jalen really wants to play in the NFL, he needs to switch to another position. Then he'd have a very good chance of playing on Sundays. At QB, that shite aint happening.

We couldn’t be this lucky. Since my hope of a Tornado taking out Nick seems unlikely, a QB depletion problem would suffice.

He needs to get his father as far away from his football career as possible.

Honestly, what's best for Hurts is to find a new position. He's going nowhere as a QB

He was a state champ power lifter. He should switch to RB or LB if he wants to make the pros.

transferring would be the right move. Kids want to play - not sit the bench.

if he wants to get paid in the NFL, he ought to switch positions. It'd probably best for Jalen and bama if he transfers.
