According to multiple reports, former University of Alabama football All-American Robert Stewart has passed away at the age of 55.

I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Stewart and chatting with him for about 15 minutes at a trade sale years ago. I had Alabama cards and I hooked him up with a stack of his cards and he signed a couple for me. Super nice guy...but mercy he was HUGE! Glad he was nice HUGE!

Bama used to play SW LA every year. I think one year they threw them a bone as a kind of thank you to give their program a bit of a boost. Definitely a different time for Bama football. They woul never do that now

Started his career as a fullback. The 1988 game at Texas a&m he catches a screen and blows up 2 aggies at the two and walks in. I want to say this may have been curries first signee at Bama. He or mccants.

Good Memory on this, he went to the Saints in the 8th Round (1992), Pick #218. Never played n the NFL...RIP to him.
