Alabama junior forward Darius Miles has reportedly been charged with capital murder on Sunday evening...

A woman was fatally shot early Sunday on the Strip in Tuscaloosa.

Authorities have not released her name, but said she was 23 years old.

Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy said the shooting happened about 1:45 a.m.

The victim was in a vehicle in the area of Grace Street and University Boulevard when the gunfire erupted. The driver continued along University Boulevard until finding a University of Alabama police officer to help.

This is just so sad to the families involved, and why in sports we need to remember that it is a vehicle to teaching young men the importance of life lessons and not exploiting their talents for trophies.

I don't understand all the jokes in the comments. This is pretty tragic, and has nothing to do with Alabama sports, aside from the fact that all sports programs across the country recruit these thugs to play for them, and this is the result. Sad
