They definitely know it's happening, they may not know every particular but this is definitely being presented to them as the rest of the country hating LSU.

Regardless of anything else, it's pretty clear that Kiffin is good at rallying a bunch of random portal mercenaries and building them into a team unit fairly quickly.

I think something you really need to understand is that your players, my team's players, every team's players are here for one thing: the paycheck.
