re: Frick it I'm done. NIL, stupid new football rules, "respeck my decision"...it all sucks

quote:
The solution is pretty simple and was already in the rules to start with, just not enforced for some reason.
You can't restrict the players, but you can restrict the schools and boosters. If you restrict the schools and booster, you remove the pay for play element, and still allow them to sign any legitimate NIL deals.
Tell schools the collectives have to end immediately, give a set date, and start treating anything further as a violation. Come out swinging and SMU the frick outta whoever dares cross the line first.
No lawsuit can win against that because the restriction is not on the player. The only thing that the NCAA would face is schools leaving the organization. And if that is what the schools want, then frick em anyway.
This would be either collusion or price fixing and is also illegal and would be sued into oblivion before it got off the ground.
The NCAA has no choice but to make players employees as I see it if they want to fix the mess that they themselves created.
price fixing.
Generally, the antitrust laws require that each company establish prices and other competitive terms on its own, without agreeing with a competitor. When purchasers make choices about what products and services to buy, they expect that the price has been determined on the basis of supply and demand, not by an agreement among competitors. When competitors agree to restrict competition, the result is often higher prices. Price fixing also includes agreements among competing purchasers or competing employers about the prices or wages they will pay. Price fixing is a major concern of government antitrust enforcement.

I would put talent accumulation at the top of the list as far as a requirement for my head coach. So I disagree.
In your view is Mullen the GOAT then?

It matters because the Big12 would have gotten the revenue from the game this season as it would have been on Big 12 tv networks. And in 2031 they aren't returning the favor because Oklahoma is already in the SEC.

Pretty laughable coming from a "buckeye" fan

At least throughout the year Vandagrif was having alot of accuracy issues. If I were a betting man atm I'd say Beck.

I wasn't the one using that game as logic for how a hypothetical one would go versus TCU. It's fine that you do however UGA fans have heard it from as I said 9 different fanbases now.

It's the single game every opposing fanbase points to. UGA at this point is still 13-0

I wonder how many teams have said that exact thing before UGA played them. If UGA beats oh st I'd guess 9 of them.

All of this is irrelevant. Whether you like it or not, amateurism especially as pertaining to college football is on its last legs.
As I said in a previous post, I don't think this makes the game better. In fact, I think it makes it measurably worse. Still doesn't change what is happening.

College football existed long before the nfl. The nfl is twice (figuratively, I don't know the exact figures but its not small) as popular as college football is now too.

It already has happened with Quinn Ewers. The state of Texas declared him ineligible his senior season so he didn't play his senior year.

A business entity which is allowed to exploit its workers might be one of the answers to your questions.
You own a business selling widgets that you and your employees make. A local prison decides to make those same widgets with prison labor and sell them as well. How long are you in business?

Make sure you start using the soon meme with the little mouse/hampster thing. That'd be perfect.

I'm not of the opinion that the decision is good for all of college sports or will even make football a better sport. It's not and won't. But I am also of the opinion that the big business sports (mens football and to a lesser degree mens basketball) was exploitative and very much needed to change.
I dont really see any way how title ix and the new age of college athletics is going to have to be can coexist. Something will have to change there.
