It was two different coaches. One of the two coaches lost to Kentucky at home and has never coached a playoff game. The other coach has never lost a game and will be coaching in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day.

Ole Miss beat Texas 39-7 in the 1958 Sugar Bowl and also beat Texas 44-23 in Austin in 2013. I don't care that the NCAA vacated the 2013 game. The Longhorns got boat raced on the field

Freeze was fired after winning exactly 5 games his final year. Of course, his Ole Miss career ended with blowout losses to Vandy and State

re: Walter Payton and Jerry Rice - why didn't they go to Ole Miss or Miss St?
Posted by FriedCatfish38 on 2/2/21 at 9:57 pm to Henry Jones Jr
Walter Payton's freshman year at Jackson State was 1971. Ben Williams was the first African American Ole Miss football player in 1971. To say that Ole Miss or any other SEC program was way past racism Payton's freshman year is just wrong. And JSU was putting tons of players in the NFL back then.
