Bama/UT has been the much more intense rivalry historically. And if your reason for getting rid of Bama/UT is because it’s been 1 sided the last 20 years well guess what Auburn/UGA has been just as one sided.

Since 2006:

Tenn wins vs Bama……2
Auburn wins vs UGA……3

If they get rid of Bama/UT Imma be pissed

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone even mention the possibility of keeping one and not the other.

Yes, it has.
Do you realize that Alabama and Auburn didn't even play each other for 41 years?...and Tennessee has beaten Alabama more than ANY other team.

What's daddy LSU's record vs Bama & Tenn?

Post screenshots so we can all get an idea.

Well, that's the end of that conversation.

If they get rid of TSIO then UT will have an easy permanent. We're secondary rivals with UF (they would pick UGA or UF ahead of us) so they won't pair us with them and we're not rivals at all with UGA. We should at least get UK given we have an actual multisport rivalry with them and UK has been improving at football but they'll force us to go with Vandy because they're in-state and other than the occasional James Franklin hire I don't think Vandy is going to be able to be anything beyond solid. They're more interested in baseball and even basketball than they are football.

You probably wont get a response on this. If you do i can only imagine the delusion that will accompany.

Bama-UT isn't going anywhere. I've said from the start there should be 9 games with the powers in the SEC getting 2 other powers and a non power program as perms and it was pretty much done that way with the Exception of Bama. If Bama was gonna be handed 3 teams that have won recent national titles, so be it if it means keeping the iron bowl and the 3rd saturday. I don't give two shites about the Baton Rouge game but if we play it, we play it to preserve the other 2.

Well, UGA is Auburn's main rival. Why wouldn't we keep it?

You know, it’s a message board. You have time to think before spouting something off. It’s built in! It takes time to type something out.

LSU fan here. Stop. The 9 game 3-6 schedule is not happening unless there are some revisions. It was 9-5 against, even when OU and TX come in you are at 9-7. TENN and Alabama voted against it and I think it is obvious why. If Bama is against LSU, Auburn and TENN and the agreement to get the 3-6 model is to take 1 of those 3 away and add say Miss. State to Bama's schedule, TENN does not want to be the game that is dropped.

That is the way it is. So, for a 3-6 schedule, Bama is going to get Auburn, TENN and say State and the LSU game goes away. TENN gets Bama, Vandy and someone else, maybe OU.

LSU therefore gets Ole Miss, Texas A&M and somebody else. Well that 3rd team might not be a top tier team, maybe LSU keeps State (State plays Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss) or maybe the LSU vs. Florida game stays.

So it looks like whenever the 3-6 model gets passed or for it to get passed, the LSU-Bama game is going to go away.

LSU fans in my view should realize that.

Didn't your coach say he doesn't want to play Tennessee, Auburn and LSU in the same year? Does this mean y'all want to give up LSU?

If that’s the case, then college football as a whole loses, because that is one of the premium matchups every single year in the college football season and has led to some amazing competition.

That is a different issue and from an LSU perspective, I assume. Look at the numbers the vote was 9-5 (according to Ross Dellinger, Brett McMurphy and other journalist who follow the SEC). TX and OU come in and vote, and they are for the 9 games, it is 9-7. The schools that voted for 9 games were LSU, Florida, MIZZOU, Texas A&M and UGA.

So if the LSU/Bama game goes away to get a 9 game schedule, so be it. But looking at the numbers, Auburn is going to vote with Bama and TENN to get what those 3 schools want. Auburn wants Bama and UGA and I would think to move their UGA game back to November. TENN is going to want Bama in the 3rd Saturday in October (Bama wants that and have the Iron Bowl the last game of the year), Keep Vandy so they can go to Nashville every other year as it is becoming like Atlanta in terms of population and that gives them a presence directly there for recruiting.

The LSU/Bama game in my view will likely to go to get the 9 game schedule. The votes are not there unless Bama, Auburn and TENN move, if 2 of them vote with the 5 (LSU, MIZZOU, UGA, Florida and Texas A&M) plus OU/TX you get the 9 game schedule passed. I think those 3 will vote for the 9 game when they get what they want. The other schools, UK, Arkansas, Miss. State, Ole Miss, Vandy, SCAR are not going to vote for a 9th game.

SEC teams will play everyone every 2 years. It's also about time that SEC teams have to look everyone in the eye and play to get to the Playoff.
