Tennessee To Add 10% 'Talent Fee' to Tickets Next Year To Offset Cost of Revenue Sharing

If I were a Vols ticket-holder, I’d pay for next year’s tickets minus the 10% surcharge and tell the school “If you want me to purchase the seats, the transaction is contingent on the surcharge being waived.” If enough folks presents that scenario, the surcharge goes away. Civil disobedience.

So instead of actually sharing the revenue, they are going to jack the price up even higher to push the cost onto fans? And notice it says a minimum of 10%, not a maximum.

The whole point of NIL and revenue sharing was because schools were making all of this money and the players were not allowed to make any, so some of the money made should be shared with the players. But somehow this all gets pushed onto the fans to pay and the schools still don't share any of what they make.

Maybe part of the issue is stupid shite like paying a high school kid $8 million before he has ever played a down for your school.

Talent fee?!? Lol. Say goodbye to college athletics. It's basically turning into another pro-league. Here's the deal- I'm fine with players making all the money they can...but if they want pay/benefits like pros, then they need to have contracts and get fired/traded like the pros too.

Glad my season ticket resides at home!

$3600 for my season tickets. $2400 of which is a compulsory "donation" to the Tradition Fund. If $360 is added to my tickets, which already went up this year, it's time to let those birds fly.

Us old folks gonna scratch our head a little trying to sort it all out. We will probably adjust ok and be happy our teams stay competitive, however we don't wanna scratch our balls when we pay players and they leave with money in hand wanting us to "respect their decision". Just saying.

curious to see how much that affects season ticket sales across the board. Especially when all schools roll this plan out.
