SEC Commissh Criticizes ACC For Streamlining Clemson/ND Path to ACC Champ Game/Playoff
© Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY Sports
On Tuesday, the ACC got people all riled up when they announced a change to their schedule that included giving bye weeks to Notre Dame and Clemson, giving them an easier path to the ACC Championship and eventual playoff spot. One of those bothered by this was SEC commissioner Greg Sankey...
quote:

“I was surprised to see the announcement,” Sankey said. “It begs one question: If their two most highly ranked teams were, for instance, [ranked] five and six in the CFP Rankings, would this decision have been made?”

I've already pointed out how an all-SEC season can have 4 games NOT in their annual spot on the schedule.

1. ACC teams have played an avg of 8 conference games each and SEC teams an avg of 7.88 conference games each so far this year. 2. Wake Forest and Va Tech have been Covid trainwrecks this year - 2 of 3 teams with worst infection rates - through in Fl State with this group. So ACC doesn't want to expose their best teams to the two teams with the worst COVID-19 protocols in the league 3. Sankey looks bitter after being responsible for cancelling all of the ACC SEC rivalry matchups when the ACC wanted to play 4. After Sankey led the political witch hunt effort to needlessly punish UNC for over a decade and also weaken the ACC, he has lost all credibility to talk about the ACC with any integrity. Do you think he would hold Alabama to the same standard - I'm sure no teams in SEC have earmarked classes for football players. 5. Conclusion - just a bunch of whining - it's a special year - mind your own business

Tell Stankey to take it up with FSU...Clemson flew down to Tallahassee to play the game and those Patsies bailed on the came two hours before kickoff. No way Clemson is flying down there on 12/12 to have the same thing happen again.

How can that bother that piece of shite Greg Sankey given what he did to the SEC schedule at the beginning of the year? On top of that, he is ultimately responsible for the blatant and embarrassing acts by the league/refs this year in relation to calls that have favored the 'traditional' SEC. This league is getting shady and I have zero confidence in Sankey providing an even playing field for every team in the league, he lacks integrity and is by far the most embarrassing commissioner we have had since the expansion in the early 90's. If this doesn't concern you, look at what happened to the Big12 over many years.

I'll bite: WHAT do you call an "even playing field"? Every year, 1 team is screwed over by something * we hear about it all season (sometimes years after). A few years ago, it was every good team had a bye week before playing Alabama. This year, Arkansas had the toughest schedule in the SEC.

Arkansas pretty much has the toughest schedule in the SEC every year, that's nothing new. To be clear I'm not talking about subjective calls during the game, everybody gets screwed at some point it's part of the game. I'm talking about calls that are challenged, plays that very clearly show an outcome without any doubt and yet the SEC rules in favor of their faviorte teams.. that's just downright shady and embaressing for the league. When you look at scheduling and how it was hanlded this year, that was embaressing for the league.. disgusting really. Trust me, if they keep this up the SEC over time will turn into the Big 12.. teams will leave and the only thing you will be left with is Alabama, Georgia etc... and just like Texas, you will be sitting there wondering where everybody went and wondering why you are becoming more irelvant each year.

The SEC has plenty of championships and is worrying about squeezing out every dollar of TV revenue they can this year. ACC on the other hand, doesn't have the championship resume and is more interested in a championship than the additional revenue their member schools would get by the extra games on TV

Seems like the ACC has caught on to the SEC's plan. How many times since the SEC split into west vs east has Bama played UGA & UF in the same year, then see how many times other SEC West teams have done it?
user avatar

So, Bama should play 2 of the annual top 3 teams in the SEC East every year, while somebody else gets to play 2 of the bottom 3 every year? A - If that's possible, then there is NO ROTATIONAL schedule. B - You know somebody will point out the irragularity. This sounds like LSU complaining about TSIO (yet NEVER made a peep about TN when they kept winning in the '90's).

How can someone say that with the Bama protection since 1992? The SEC is setup for it to be Bama vs UGA/Fla. Go back and look at how many times Bama has played those teams in the last 30 years! Its obvious!

The SEC has cancelled final regular season games for Alabama and place them in the conference championship? Not quite the same thing...

Wouldn't it be ironic if players from both teams fricked around during the off week and tested positive for CV when they came back and several couldn't play.

its highly likely. I legit have photos on my phone of Clemson players, mainly Etienne out partying after the FSU cancelation. Every bad game Etienne has had this season. Including the "I didn't have my special pre game breakfast/cramp game. He's posting on snap chat at 3 am with the same girl getting fricked up.
