Why would you not do this...
quote:

[Source] - “We’re going to be having a discussion on targeting,” Steve Shaw, the national coordinator of officials and the NCAA’s secretary-rules editor, told Yahoo Sports last week from Miami, site of the national title game. “That needs to be an annual discussion. It will be a focus discussion.”

When exploring the penalty structure this offseason, officials must determine if the disqualification — and the carryover disqualification — is still warranted. Could rules officials create two different levels of targeting fouls, similar to flagrant fouls in basketball?

I have zero faith they will do the right thing.

Dallas Turner’s hit on Jayden Daniels should be the textbook definition of disqualification

The fact the “expert” on the broadcasts get the call wrong half the time is evident of a big problem

Long overdue.

Accidental: 15 yard penalty only
Intentional: 15 yard penalty and IMO maybe have to sit out for the next 8 defensive plays.

Get rid of the suspensions

don't be such an idiot! the number of no calls and bad calls from biased referees has always been a problem. even with the replay system calls are explained away with some type of BS by the refs.

This is the worst rule in all of sports. Inconsistent, doesn’t take into account the offensive player level changes and of course it’s never called on a running back for leading with the crown of the helmet.

How about discussing transparency? Open the review process for us all to listen and see

Let's give these refs even more control. After all, tons of money are riding on these games now. We need ambiguity.

I still don’t know what is a catch and what isn’t anymore.
