@AnotherRound, no doubt, surprised they aren't working LSU@MSU and surprised they are working the game they got instead. Someone is either losing favor or something

Verne promised to work the word(s) "honky tonk" into his broadcast Saturday then on Monday 929thegame in ATL will have a question related to his use of said phrase and then have a call-in contest around it.

@ TigerattheU While that is true, it still doesn't make all the sense. By definition, the SECN will have some of the leftovers. So why put some guys that were headlining your ABC games a couple years ago, into the leftovers of the SEC games for the weekend. Getting them to the SECN wasn't going to magically make viewers - that is stupid.

I'm more surprised to see Tom Lugenbill as a sideline reporter. Did ESPN completely give up on recruiting? He was their main guy.

Musberger and Palmer were brought to the SEC Network for a big splash to elevate its launch and encourage subscribers. It wasn't a demotion. They do the SEC Network primetime game every week. They aren't up for the ESPN primetime game and get passed over.
