“It’s really the first week, the bye week, where I’ve been able to look outside of what we’re doing. Certainly, I’ve known Charlie for a long time. He’s always been a really, really, really good coach and a guy who has done a marvelous job as an assistant coach, as a coordinator, as a head coach. Just because things haven’t worked out in this short period of time doesn’t mean they won’t work out for him. He’s really just getting started. There’s always going to be opinions about what happens and what hasn’t happened. He just needs some time to do things the way he wants to do them and we’ll see what happens from there.”

Texas should go ahead and sign Strong up for twenty more years before someone else gets him. They should sign up for a 50 year home-and-home with A&M while they're at it. These would be good news.

Sumlin is beating him in the Texas recruiting circles, of course he wants Strong to stay at UT!

I agree whether you win or lose, you need time to recruit your kind of guys and develop them in your system. A coach should get at least 4 years to show he can get it done.

I agree with Sumlin.
Give Strong as much time at texas as he needs. Give him an extension, even.
