Jameson Williams Said Alabama Would’ve Beat Georgia In Title Game If He Didn’t Get Hurt
© Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports
Alabama WR Jameson Williams went down with a torn ACL in the first half of the national championship game and was unable to return to the game. Georgia went on to win the game and the title, but Williams things would've been different if he didn't get injured...
quote:

“I felt like we would’ve won the game,” Williams said, via Mike Rodak of AL.com. “Just — things happen, you know.”

Uh, I disagree....... Alabama might, I say might, have challenged Ga if Bryce Young was throwing the ball to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, you know the guy who took his spot at OSU and put on the most incredible performance I have ever seen by a WR. JSN is at another level.

It was a great performance by JSN but it was against Utah not Georgia. Utah has a good defense but not on the same level as Georgia's was last year. Also, Alabama was actually ahead of Georgia in the 4th with 10 minutes to go so I would say they "challenged" them very well!

Honestly..... I forgot they actually won.

And just like that, Alabama now has 32 championships they didn’t actually win.

And just like that, your team has a fraction of the championships Alabama has won in football HOWEVER you want to count them!

Doesn't matter. Game's over.

Does this gump play defense too? So basically sounds like he was the most important part in the gump team. Arrogance abounds in gump land. So much for team, sadly the gumps will add another title with the 60 they already claim.

The guy had 65 yards in one quarter of play, and had 184 yards and 2 tds when bama stomped Georgia in the first game. Of course bama would have won with Jameson, they lead in the 4th without anyone to throw to for most of the game.

The only way that was going to happen was if he was going to go back in and the the officials bags of cash.

Holy OOF. Tide fans HAVE to be embarrassed by this. It’s basically Colt McCoy 2.0 (except Colt would’ve actually impacted the game, some no name dump WR wouldn’t have)

The huge difference between the 2 games you are referencing is that we actually got to see an entire game with Williams on the field along with Metchie and Georgia was ROUTED for the SEC title. We actually KNOW what happened when both played and there is ZERO conjecture!

Had Texas already drummed Bama with Colt McCoy 2 games prior? I must have missed that one.

Muh Colt, I mean Muh Jameson.

As I pointed out above, whether Colt makes a difference or not is purely conjecture. We actually saw the game where Williams went off along with Metchie, IT HAPPENED!

Cocky, arrogant garbage.

He would have had an impact for sure, but to say that Alabama would have won is pretty arrogant on his part. Georgia was clearly the better team that game.

He said "I felt like we would've won the game", as in that is his opinion, not "we would have won the game".

Yeah, they had to come from behind to win in the 4th. You obviously didn’t watch.

Yeah, and y'all had the Heisman winner at QB and we had a third string preferred walk on at QB. So our freshmen and back ups played better than your freshmen and backups. Got it.

Solid post. And accurate

I'm not one for the injury excuse, but pretending your QB was 3rd string after starting all year is pretty delusional.

It seems like Georgia fans know what Williams said was the truth because you ALL are super defensive if anyone brings it up.

It's possible. Alabama's backup receivers failed on the big stage, dropping multiple big play balls. All it would have took was one play by Williams and the game is on.

Yeah and if Tua wouldn’t have came in for Jalen and Jalen wouldn’t have came in for Tua, Georgia would have won both of those games. It was our turn to catch a break. If Bama was truly better, their backups would be better.

Which backups? The backup receivers, the backup corners (both), the backup linemen? Congrats on beating the B team second time around.
