Take off work early, ready to settle in and watch an exciting Game 5 to watch the Braves advance. Game is over in 20 minutes before the Cards had two outs.

That was the biggest let down. Geez an entire season of good baseball (bad bullpen) gone in a half an inning.

Well back to your regularly scheduled college football.

Disappointing. But as fans of Atlanta sports, we’ve become accustomed to this kind of letdown

At least Atlanta United brought a championship to the city!

What was it? It was Atlanta sports, again, forever, and always. To the pity of misery.

I certainly didn't think the Braves would win given how God hates Georgia sports, but I wasn't expecting that.

They took away the foam tomahawks and cut out the chop because is was racist or something just a few hours before the game.

...then they score 10 runs in the first inning.

It was over before the game even started.

The next Joker movie will center on my slow descent into madness that is fueled by the failure of Georgia sports teams.

She doesn't hate Georgia sports, just the Braves.

The Braves have been dead to me for a long time.

UGA, Hawks, Falcons, all have a chance for something special in the next 5 years. Falcons are really close to being dead to me.

I was there. It was the most fricked up start to a game I have ever seen. Prior to that, it was UGA in the 05 Sugar Bowl when West Va jumped us 28-0 before our seats even got warm. It was a pathetic showing and I am not sure Folty will ever recover mentally.

They did actually do the chop music on the loudspeakers but did not give out foam tomahawks.

I'm not a big braves fan but I feel like this is a bigger story. Tell me more.

Chief Knockahoma laid down a curse on us when we took his teepee out of right field for extra seats and quit letting him do his dance on the pitchers mound.

Two stadiums later and we still can’t shake that juju.

It was like the baseball version of the 08 Bama game.

Only this one was with the season on the line.

I wish they would have lost, but since they won, I'm glad we lost. No shot we beat Max and Stras multiple times with the way our 3-4-5 spots were hitting.

We lost that series on Monday when we couldnt get Acuna home from third with no outs.

Maybe I just don't get it because I'm not a part of the tribe like he is, but my grandmother's grandmother was 1/2 German 1/2 Native American. I don't claim to be cherokee but I'd rather my distant ancestors were remember as fearless warriors than drunk degenerate gamblers.

Unfortunately, I'm a drunk degenerate gambler, so maybe pretending to be a Warrior is cathartic for me?

Maybe his grandfather wasn't such a great warrior and he is scarred by his past?

Im just trying to figure out what exactly is offensive.

ETA My point wasn't about me being more/less native American (obviously he is part of the tribe) but more why is it not offensive to me but it is he? Neither of us were alive and we both have similar ancestors if we go back a few generations.

Should I be more offended?

This.

If you're a fan of Atlanta and UGA sports, you have to have skin the thickness of an elephant. Braves have made the playoffs about 20 times in my lifetime and have ONE WS championship to show for it. Falcons have played in two Superbowls in my lifetime and, in spite of having the Patriots beat, managed to lose. Then there's Dawgs vs Bama.

Tough gig being a local fan.
