Is Peter buck dead?

Did the Bama game kill him?

I honestly figured PB had been killed while coaching a losing little league FB game by an angry parent, but you may have pegged it. The childish immaturity and ego are a perfect match with that of PB.

Better chance his mom caught him cussing in his Georgia Sports Board posts and took his phone.

I understand what you're saying, but are we dead last in DL talent in the SEC? And sacks aren't necessarily a product of DL talent. It's more of a scheme product. Kirby forgot more defense yesterday than I'll ever know, but it perplexes me why we aren't more aggressive on the edges and with stunts and blitzes. Opposing QBs seem very comfortable vs Dawgs.

There is a core group of like 3 of you that think Bobo and Richt should still be on the coaching staff, which is laughable.

That's a straw man argument because nobody (including me and I was a big Mark Richt fan) is saying they'd choose Richt over Kirby. Kirby has proven himself beyond any doubt. He has the 4th highest winning percentage, 85%, of any major college coach ever (>10 season), 2 national championships out of the last 4, 3 SEC championships of the last 9, including 2 of the last 4. In the two and a half seaons since his last national championship, his record is 31-5 (86%), 10-5 vs final ranked teams (67%), 21-0 vs unranked teams (100%) and his current team are the reigning SEC champions and ranked 5th in the country.

But, we have a special group here who collectively, and in some cases individually, constantly criticize Kirby's choice of both coordinators, his receivers coach, defensive backs coach, OL coach and probably some others I've forgotten. That same group constantly criticizes player development, game management, play calling, scheme, recruiting, etc. That's virtually the entire job description of a college head coach and they're saying Kirby Smart is failing at all of them simultaneously. Some of this group, who are among your peers and upvoters on this board, are moving beyond insinuation and outright saying Kirby's a problem and needs to go. But even the ones who aren't explicitly saying that are implying it through their general disagreement with how he's running the program. And according to this special anonymous group, anyone here who understands that success waxes and wanes for every program and therefore Kirby deserves the benefit of the doubt on all of those complaints above, is also a problem.

I choose the "core group" that trusts UGA's current proven head coach over message board football analysts, for now and a long while to come, even when he has down seasons or the wins aren't pretty and the championships are more infrequent. It's a new era where talent depends on money and UGA is not the leader there, so future complete domination probably isn't in the cards. But we still have the best coach UGA's ever had and one of the best ever.

Dawgs are dead last in the SEC with only 8 sacks

Sacks are somewhat overrated. I'd pay more attention to TFLs and QB pressures as a better metric to judge a d line.

I can't find any stats for QB pressures but I can't imagine they're are many. We're dead last in the SEC with 29 TFLs. The next worst has 39.

We've only generated 8 takeaways which is also last in the SEC.

We don't have near the talent on the DL we're used to.

Neither does Arkansas, but even they have 16 sacks.

He is fine. He has been busy and lost his login credentials, he'll be back soon with a new name.

Given the choice of answering a valid question you and others chose to attack and insult. I can't imagine how little integrity, character and self-worth one has to lack in order to do that, but there it is, plain as day: oblivious to the fact that doing so says more about you than anything you spew toward other posters.

He can be absolutely correct in his statement and you can also be correct in your psych analysis, but both can be true at the same time.

Also, aren't you the one that said you can't bet against your team to make money?

Betting against your own team will never not be bizarre and fruit loop behavior. The whole idea is so far out in left field that you have both feet on the warning track and both soulders against the wall.

You are basically betting that the other team will do good against Georgia and that Georgia will fail.

gotta be honest, I much prefer the 21/22 versions where the 2nd halfs were mostly for getting the backups reps.

Even though blowouts are supposed to be boring, I loved watching those teams play defense. So many tough, physical dudes just flying around dominating every opponent. 2021 (2019 as well) especially refused to concede an inch

You still don’t understand how betting works.

GA can do well and the other team can do poorly and you can bet the other team and points and win money.

Why is this hard for you?

I've been betting on football since I was 14, and I promise you I've never encountered a real Georgia fan who bet against Georgia.

The whole concept is just batshit crazy. So you root for Georgia to score some touchdowns and get some stops, but you also root for the other team to score some touchdowns and get some stops? You've got a screw loose, man!

The team as a whole is trending up.
Gunner is improving as QB with better decision making and control of his passes.
The OL is finally healthy and improving.

The defense seems about the same.
We aren't getting pressure on opposing QB's.
Our blitz strategy seems predictable and not effective.
We too often lose outside containment.
Tackling is not up to Kirby's standards.
The secondary is missing assignments too often leading to big plays.
