....when LSU fans don't complain about a weak defense?

Is it because our games are much closer? Or good offensive plays are just easier to identify?

It's because we struggle so badly to close games

It's because we have the most pedestrian, predictable, and easiest to defend offense relative to the talent available. With this offensive line, these RBs, the talent at wideout, and a junior at QB who has seen it all, we shouldn't be this pathetic.

Coming into the season the O was going to pick up where it left off taking bitches lunch money but we had concerns on D. Tons of talent but young, corners were suspect and no seasoned pass rush. Then we got Coley'd

Our offense has cost us a game. Their D hasn't.

We weren't "predictable" at all vs A&M and
we had wide open plays multiple times but the players failed to execute. We have some
talent at wideout but experience and health is still an issue.

We're terribly predictable, but you're right, we had some plays and didn't make them. If we have them against LSU, we better make them because we can't afford to miss scoring opportunities.

This is true but it’s also true that we can do much better than Coley.

Need them to ”develop” like D-Rob did his freshman year at Cal? Speaking of D-Rob...

happy Thanksgiving guys, we are going to pistol whip the Nerds

THEN we can start fretting in full force over the LSU game

let's be thankful for what we have today and enjoy the game this weekend

and we can for damn sure beat LSU, but I'm not going to worry about that until at least Sunday

Different league.Look at what Ja'maar Chase (LSU) did as freshman or Jerry Jeudy
did as a Freshman or even look at what Haselwood is doing as a freshman in the Oklahoma offense.None are making much of an impact.

Bc — offensively — we could & should be playing better & scoring more. I don’t know what LSU’s expectations are for their defense but Fromm hasn’t seemed his usual self.

Take for example the past game against TAMU where he missed wide-open receivers. Rain’s a contributing factor but still. Consider SCAR & the final regulation drive where Fromm pre-determined his target & missed open receivers right in front of him.

In our attempts to diagnose the offensive issue, fingers get pointed at Smart, Coley, & Fromm, probably others too, but the truth — it’s a team, there isn’t just 1 cause at all times.

Anyways, I hope we figure it out. We can beat LSU. But we need some consistent 3rd down conversions to let our D rest & work their magic. Field goals won’t be enough.

I find it hard to believe Smart is interfering much in the offense, at least from a play calling and philosophy standpoint. I think it comes down to Coley and Fromm. I don't think it's the receivers, because when they do get separation, From has often missed them or flat out not seen them.

It's a combination of the 3 and Jake absolutely has to step it up.This is his 3rd year starting and he needs to show some leadership.

He’s the head coach. If he wants to interfere with the offense that’s his prerogative.

I don't have a problem with it. I just find it hard to believe that Smart interfering in the offensive game plan and play calling is why we're struggling. I can believe he got fed up and let Pittman call a play or two, but I can't imagine him telling Coley I want to do this and/or that. Maybe I'm wrong. I can see him doing that with the defense because he's a defensive guru with tons of experience, while Lanning is a first year coordinator.

Coley called a decent game last game. I still don’t have much confidence in him but he did ok last game.

If we were winning 24-0 or 19-0 or 21-0 it wouldn’t matter.

You can't expect shutouts or for our defense to hold every team under 20 points. We wil probably need a minimum of 28 to beat LSU.

Because LSU’s weak defense didn’t cost them a game against Miss St or Ole Miss.

Our offense cost us the USC game.

Never said I did. But the question was “why do we complain about our offense when LSU doesn’t complain about their defense?”

LSU’s offense is so good that they end up beating everyone by 3 touchdowns or more despite their piss poor defense.

The only way you could say the same for Georgia is if our defense held opponents scoreless because we never score outside of the low to mid 20s.

I know I wouldn’t be complaining if we were beating everyone 21-0.

But our offense has been so bad that the endless 3 and outs have the defense gassed by the 4th quarter. They can hold opponents for 3 quarters but it’s hard to expect them to do the same in the 4th when our offense hasn’t sustained any drives to keep them off the field.
