What's up with first half scoring?

In seven games we've scored 32 total points in the first half against:
Clemson
Kentucky
Bama
Florida
Ole Miss
Tech
Texas in the SEC title game
We came back against Bama, had no chance against Ole miss, and could have lost to Kentucky, Tech, & Texas. That's no bueno.

Bobo is like a car. Now that he is much older, takes him longer to warm

It’s been bad, and I don’t know why, but I do find it humorous to see Tennessee NOT on the list.

We try to establish running game in first half and don’t take a ton of risks because our defense usually is winning. We also had a ton of drive killing drops. When they opened it up with Beck, we usually could score.

I honestly think we never had an identity on O this year. Most of us want a strong running game and injuries and missed assignments have hurt that.
I also think Beck does everything well except make the right call on where the ball should go. He single handily destroyed many drives where it was 3rd and 4 medium and he goes 30 yards down field.
We shot our selves in the foot far more than anything opposing defenses did.
We have the number 2 composite and disfunction on O made this season what it's been, that said, they found ways to win inspite of our self inflicted wounds.
We just need an O that can execute and finish drives by keeping the chains on our side and not letting the opposing d off the hook thru poor playcalls on 2nd and 3 Rd down.

Yeah, the myriad turnovers in Tuscaloosa didn't help matters any in that one.

Eye test and memory say that this isn't accurate. I remember opening several games and throwing quite a bit. I am too lazy to look up soefics but will if you argue with me

It’s maddening. I understand trying to establish the run, but that would be better accomplished if we could make first downs.

A lot of the throws were safe throws. And it’s not that we didn’t take shots, it’s that we didn’t take as many.we got behind the sticks a lot with the running game, drops and misses.

Kirby likes the wear them down strategy. It works. It is proven. Not sexy.

We have to recruit better at running back and oline.
I believe the problem with 5star or #1 hs rbs is they are grossly overused in high school and have preexisting issues with their knees.
We have to be even more physical in the run game and need more eye candy and misdirection.

We have 2 very good RBs, though one missed time and 1 was inexperienced. The O line had some shuffling and too many plays where 1 guy got beat or misread his assignment. That’s all it takes.

My issue with RBs is we can't keep them healthy even before they become stars and I love Frazier but he has to hang on to the ball better

I believe this is where Stockton will help things...

I get it, but I feel like there is a compromise where we can wear them down without constantly falling behind and ending the first half with less than 100 yards of offense.

Stockton can hold the backside with his run threat which can help the run game. You have to show it though and a coach has to figure how much he wants to expose his 2nd string QB for that type of contact. He is also going to have to be a threat to throw the middle of the field. There are some positives and negatives and questions with our current situation. We have a lot of time to refine what we want to do with him at QB1 thankfully.

How many fumbles did he lose this season?

Seems 1 or 2 a game but we have been lucky this year.
