Solid. Good season could make the next one great.

It’s top 4 with a chance to be top 3. What aren’t you clear on?
*assuming we hold Broderick and SVP

I thought it was a great class. Considering our horrendous offense play all season, I expected a decline in the recruiting. However, Kirby came through and got some great WRs for this class. Our offense will have no excuses next season.

The immediate areas of need were WR and OL.
We stacked up there, not just numbers, but the player gradings are high.
That alone gives us a B+, even by the most negadawg standards.
Add in the fact we are reloading DL and DBs with very highly graded players, takes us to A.
The A+ will come if we reel in a couple more elites between now and NSD-Feb.
Also, I'd like to see more RB's than just Milton. We are losing two, need to replace with two.

I agree... I keep forgetting about Ringo, Jones, and Washington... If UGA holds on to those guys, then I believe it will be elite. Just worried we didn’t get a QB. Whether you like Fromm or not, he’s either gone or needs serious competition for next year. If not, we could be looking at a similar season next year where we don’t make the playoffs. Just wondering if Kirby is starting to (if not already knows) realize this.

I'm going to reserve judgement on Beck. I know his ratings fell like Wile E. Coyote off a cliff.
He did earn his rating some how before his Fromm like season. But at 6'5 225, his playing weight may get around 230-235. I'm hearing he got some mobility. He and a healthy D'Wan Mathis should have a competitive spring camp.

We hit on a bunch of top receivers and linemen. With a couple of more big commitments on the way...and a kicker. All of our receivers are over 6’2 and there are some real burners. We’ll be top five easy and maybe even top 3?
The only thing that would’ve made it better would’ve been 3 5* QBs so we could start training Fromms replacement and some other guys that end up transferring.
What did you want to see?

Signing an Elite 11 QB is a good thing. Only 11 schools get to do that every year. We were one of them. Maybe he'll be great, maybe he'll bust. But we signed an Elite 11 QB. That's something to be happy about, not sad.

Watched some film and started to get fired up on Beck. He’s an ugly SOB but he has a cannon and he’s a big dude.

It will be one of the top 2 classes in avg player grade. We finished 5th in the CFP polls. Let’s not act like the world has ended

I would have liked a couple more OL and LBs

Hopefully we can hang on to SVP and Jones.

Considering the SECCG, losing Pittman and the negative vibe lately, it was a great job by Kirby. If we hold on to Jones and SVP and get Ringo and the TE, it is our second best class ever.

We got 4 with two more committed. How many did you want?
We are pretty full at LB right now and most are very young.
I guess t could all change once we know exactly who goes pro, but you can't recruit based on who you think might go pro. For the current state of our roster, we did what we needed to do with those two positions.
Obviously everything could change once we know who will declare, though,

We have some unbelievably spoiled fans.
What Kirby is doing is unprecedented and recruiting is more important than ever with so little practice time to "develop"
signees.
Just want all they guys to be self motivated and willing to put in the work away from the coaches especially the WR's and I hope all of em are EE's.

Spoiled may or may not be the correct label. Reality is our expectations have changed. Are those expectations too high?
We are literally one play away from winning two national championships in recent years. We are one play away from making two other playoffs on top of those.
Now, close doesn't count and builds a lot of angst and second guessing among a fan base. Close can be a single play made/missed or a single play called.
This is a high stakes poker game and we have made it to the final table after a bunch of years. The competition at the top is not doing anything but getting tougher.
To win it all takes money, quality coaches (also money but not only), high level depth across the board on players, ability to identify/recruit difference makers, and LUCK.
There are some uniquely skilled individuals that have the capacity to take a team from good to great. You can't always identify those players...all you can do is recruit at the highest level and make sure you have the coaches and staff to take advantage of that.
It didn't come together this year. As fans, we have debated and diagnosed the reasons ad nauseam.
The chances of you being in the mix take a severe hit if you don't produce top 3-5 recruiting. Kirby has done a good job and won for more than he has lost on the big recruits.
7 of our opponents next year have top 25 classes. 3 schools in the top 10 are less than 4 hour drives from us (including the top 2).
I can't even imagine what it takes to actively chase these recruits around and convincing them to choose you. After the way our season played out, to be in the top 5 with a chance to be in the top 3 class wise is pretty damn impressive.

Yep, spoiled is not a good analogy.
Higher expectations is the correct assessment.
CMR took our football program to higher level with top ten recruiting and generally top ten results.
Kirby has taken us to another higher level with top 4 recruiting and near top 4 results.
We have come close to a NC but it's still been 40 years since our last one. As such it is very reasonable for our fans to have higher expectations which include a NC.
