And, I blame Kirby for that.

maybe, Kirby just wanted to play Saban in the NC?

I’d love to line up in 2 TE sets and let Darnell have the game of his career. They focus on BB and there shouldn’t be a guy on the field that could guard him.

That would be glorious.

Not the TE's I'm worried about.

You wanna guess where 4 of the
5 interceptions were thrown vs Bama the last 2 times we played? (the almost pick 6 as well BTW)

I agree 100%- that was my smartass way of agreeing with you and making this point:

You are correct that Bama has to help the 2 freshman CB's, which opens the middle. With SBIV being a bit scary there, throw the ball 10 feet high to Washington. Would be really difficult to throw a pick unless he somehow overthrows Washington.

In fairness to Stetson the middle of the field is the danger zone for all QB's.More defenders and more eyes and timing has to be spot on.More room for mistakes attacking the corners of the defense.

Love to see us target Washington more but he's obviously not our primary target with our 12 and 13 personnel groups plus he's brutal as a blocker.

My point wasn't that the freshman CB's open up the middle of the field as opposed
to Saban putting an emphasis on shutting down our ability to attack the corners of the defense after what we did to Michigan.

Nothing! Score 24 and play “our” defense instead of that bullshite we saw on the 4th and we win.

Sorry but it’s going to take more than 24 points to beat Bama, and a hell of a lot more than 7 points after half

What I’d like to see is the offense win all 4 quarters. We tend to get conservative in the second half, but to beat Bama I think you have to just keep pouring it on. When Clemson blew them out in 2019, Bama didn’t win a single quarter.

We only get conservative after big leads

Really? Is our defense worse/better than AU? Remind me how many points Bama scored against them in regulation.

We started going to the run after we led the first half of the natty and the SECCG in 2018. We need to keep pushing the rock down field.

This ain’t the iron bowl and Auburn had home field advantage, every game Bama struggled in this year was on the road. If this was in Athens I would get what you are saying but we literally just gave up 41 points to them. Sorry but it’s going to take some points to beat them

Some points, I agree. 17 should be plenty if Kirby doesn’t outsmart himself like he did on 12/4. Just play the same d we played the other 13 games and Bama won’t score more than 10.

There’s no way you’re younger than 55. Offenses have changed.

I think he means 12 offenses did not score like they changed.

I’m 52. My post isn’t about offense, it’s about our defense. We didn’t play the same defensive strategy on December 4th that we played in the 13 games we dominated. Kirby outsmarted himself against Saban. Just do what we’ve done all year and we win…comfortably!

The difference on dec 4th is that we actually went up against a team that’s equally talented as ours and we got our coached on both sides of the ball.

Successful first downs are the key to a victory. Running, passing, whatever it takes to avoid 3rd and 7+ because that ain't the way to a W with Stetson. Get Cook, Bowers, and Kenny Mc involved in high percentage swing pass plays.

Man I wish we had a Chubb, Sony, Swift. Our guys just don't seem to make it happen like those guys.

If we can somehow hit 30 pts, I think we win a rematch. Don't see this defense having 2 games of 30-40 points given up.

How far downfield are you allowed to do that if it is a pass play? 3 yds?

3 yards, however if the ball is thrown behind the LOS the linemen can block downfield.

Mostly true, but he can be deadly on that little toss sweep. That gives him a bit of a head start so he can get his speed up.
