Mini Convection Oven just doesn't have the same ring. They're good at what they do... even if that thing isn't frying.

You're right; I don't doubt they can cook well, but the verbiage drives me crazy.

As far as beverages go, tonight will be a little bit of sparkling wine. Might make my wife some champagne cocktail (French 75 or a Bellini or something). And I'll stick with either bourbon neat (ER17, 4R.Cask, or EC.Cask) or maybe an old fashioned with some Blenheim's wheat whiskey. Have some Corsair Triple Smoke that I'll probably save for tomorrow as I'm making my take on the Cubano Sandwiches from the movie Chef for tomorrow.

I miss the simpler times when all the planning we needed was where to buy cocaine, MDMA, and how we were getting to Tyrone’s OC for New Years.

20 years ago tonight, I was camping on the Seminole Reservation in the Everglades at the Phish NYE festival, surrounded with every possible thing you could possibly want to put into your body. They had more nitrous oxide than the ADA. I didn't even know what MDMA was but I found out. There were so many mushrooms that people weren't even trying to sell them, the market was flooded. People just giving away caps.

What model do you have?

I don't see a model number on it. It's the pressure cooker one with the patented cutting edge tender-crisp technology. Thats also a steamer, a slow cooker, a broiler, and a fryer. Have you prepped adequatley for the coming collapse yet? Well did I mention it's also a dehydrator?!?!?!? Whoa, what a value!

Have you done fish in it? I'm interested in one of these.

Haven't cooked fish in it yet. So far, it's really just been my wing making machine. Although I have steamed veggies of all kinds and rice which is super easy and perfect. Also, probably most conveninently, anything you have in your freezer that would take a day to thaw out or an hour to cook in oven can be tossed in the ninja instead and it's ready in 15 minutes. So its worth it for that alone probably too

I don't know much about air frying technology, but I think the Ninja is different.

You still add oil, but then the there's pressure involved and also gyroscopes that somehow remove a lot of the oil, but not too much.

Either way, I've tried all the different ways to try and make wings at home. Bake, pan fry, deep fry, grill, or smoke and the NInja out does them all by a mile imo

Beers this afternoon, some red wine with dinner, then doing a couple blind bourbon flights, and will settle in with the brown water the rest of the evening.

I wasn’t going to drink much of anything until you started this thread.

That provided the motivation for me to purchase a bottle of Dalwhinnie15 just to make sure I have enough scotch on hand.

As to the other question here’s a link to an Old Fashioned recipe which is pretty standard as to the ingredients (made one at home about a month ago)—I haven’t gotten one of those smoke devices yet but I’m sure they make it a little better. LINK

In Orlando. Spent the day buying overpriced beer and drinks. Now back in room
Best old fashion - pour Bourbon over ice. Then drink.

'm kicking off dinner tonight with some red wine and then will probably switch to bourbon. Thinking of making old fashioneds - likely with Buffalo Trace. Does anyone have a go-to recipe for old fashioneds?

Started with a few screw drivers and switched to miller lite while I was putting out hay for my cows. Then I had a White Russian. Now the wife has switched me to wine. Had a nice bottle of dry Chardonnay with our pull n eat shrimp appetizer but have moved on to a Cabernet to go with the filets I just cooked on my cast iron. Letting them rest and then gona soak it all up.

Here’s my twist on a old fashioned. Two fingers of weller special reserve or your bourbon of choice . Just a drop of simple syrup. Squeeze a wedge of navel orange and garnish with a couple sprigs of rosemary.

Friend, if I could get my tiny mitts on weller I wouldn't mix it with anything.
