The go ahead TD throw to AD Mitchell in the Natty was very similar to the pick 6 play. They blitzed out of showing a cover 2 but the safety, just like last time, came down as a robber, Stet took the deep ball… right read. Pretty fricking cool to have that same play go the other way.

Wasn’t it a free play this time (Bama jumped off)? Even if so, I’ll assume Mailman made the right read and wasn’t just tossing the deep route because of the flag. He gets benefit of the doubt on all things at this point. He wanted Bama, got ’em, and crushed them.

Not sure if he knew it was a free play. But the formation and routes on the right side were the same and Bama’s safety bit on the slot guy. Pretty interesting actually to see two outcomes.
