I know Mack was committed to VCU when Smart was there, and also visited Texas last week (only visit) and loved it. That seems like a pretty bad sign for us.

Auburn, LSU, USCe, A&M all had good recruiting classes. They have nothing to sell that we don't.
Although yes, I don't see many benefits for top players to come here.

No chance in hell we land Mack. The only legitimate shot we had at getting him was if Smart chose not to extend an offer to him after he took the Texas job.

the whole playing the AAU game comment is not accurate. He has always recruited AAU guys and coaches like anyone else. Coach Yaz has experience in AAU so some will like that.
and we have recruited Tevin hard, his mom prefer's us, but Mack loves Coach Smart. Think distance is a factor but the longer this has drawn out I see it going more and more in Texas favor. Interesting position cause although they have better tradition and history they also can probably offer more immediate playing time. Hope we get him but I think the grad transfer is more likely right now.
and we have a very good recruiting class coming in. Great balance, some bigs with potential, and fans will love watching Turtle Jackson play in red and black. Recruiting has been on the upswing, just like our program.

The same people that bitch about bball recruiting don't follow the team worth a shite so I just can't bring myself to care what they have to say. We are on a steady upswing like you say.
Just wait till next season when we make the nit and people come out of nowhere bitching about how the program is declining and we need to fire fox. I cannot wait to have to deal with that.
