And what Tray and the rest of the Louisville castoffs fail to recognize is that Grantham is just an enabler to their shitty behavior. Instead they see it as "Coach Grantham has my back", when reality is that Grantham doesn't give a goddamn about how these kids carry themselves/mature as long as they can provide him with a season or two on his defense.

I'm glad we are doing the right thing regarding the dudes who didn't want to buy in. I think it is evident that something was broken regarding the culture surrounding the program the past 2-3 years, especially on the defensive side. Don't get me wrong the offense had it's fair share of guys doing the wrong thing, but it seems like the majority of our problems were on the defensive side of the ball.

Arrested

Offense: Crowell, Ty Smith, JSW, U.Lemay

Defense: Marshall, Chris Sanders, Sanders-Comings, Rambo, B. Smith, JHC, Wiggins, Matthews, John Taylor, DeLoach

The bottom line is Richt/Pruitt gave everyone an opportunity to buy in and those who didn't (regardless of talent) were shown the door and I respect that.

All the handwringing over the secondary is hilarious to me. Keep it together guys, this is all good news. I wish we still had JHC, but Matthews and Shaq were average and they had piss poor attitudes.

Of the 5 DBs who started the most games last year, we return 3 of them. Are we the most talented? No, but we have plenty of experience to be successful.

I was very happy with the news when I got it. Many UGA fans I've talked to IRL were very happy .

He's added Florida and Alabama to his list, always wanted to play with Reuben Foster.

Intriguing. I wouldn't totally hate it, but Swann is pretty good at CB and has played there his whole career. I really truly think last year was an abberation with Swann. In 2012 he didn't have much weight on his shoulders. He had guys around him he could trust on the field, so he was free to just go out and make plays, and he did. He was great in '12. Fast forward to '13, he's the head honcho on D essentially with a bunch of freshman around him. If I had to guess, I'd say mentally he assumed he needed to step up and do more, and he struggled.

I think with a newer dumbed down system, he'll return more to '12 form. Plus, Swann's tackling isn't really a strong suit. He's a cover guy through and through, and ideally you'd like your safeties to be tackling machines.

Swann constantly getting burned in man, at safety he can hold down his zone and have more opportunities to snatch balls out of the air. Let aaron davis, jj green, and reggie wilkerson control the corners.
Swann has already played alot of nickel, not a big transition.

Like I said I'm intrigued by Swann at safety, but I'd like to point out that you're suggesting replacing him with 3 guys who have never played a down on defense for us, and 2 that have never played a down period.

Ugh. I don't particularly care for Mauger currently, moore I'm indifferent on. Terry interests me. At any rate, we've got to play the dudes we've got. We are going to be woefully thin and experienced in the secondary, so it's at least a little reassuring to have a multi-year starter at CB who has proven in the past that he can make plays. We're either going to have problems at safety, or move Swann to S and have more problems at corner.

We wont face as many high powered passing offenses this year so I don't see our inexperience/lack of talent on the back end to be as big of a deal as it was last year. Losing Matthews sucks but it is clear he has an attitude problem and was willing to try and skate by on talent alone. That's not mentioning the fact that the guys hamstrings are made of finely graded string cheese.

Mean headhunting skull thumpers are who usually make All-SEC teams on defense, and usually have several attitude problems. You need some guys that aren't quite right in the head if you want a top tier defense.

Not sure where you get this. Was he not a hard worker?
