Our inability to hold the edge this season was largely due to the lack of speed at LB. I do agree with you that we win that Bama game with JDJ on the field, but going into next season with an experienced, faster Allen will undoubtedly improve the defense. JDJ doesn't lack talent, he lacks the physical traits needed to run our defense the way Kirby and Will want to run it. That's not a knock on JDJ...there are teams and schemes where he'd fit perfectly.

He's a middle linebacker. He guards the middle. Edge problems aren't on JDJ. Edge problems are .. in Kirby's words, let them have the edge so we get them running horizontally, but we won't let them do anything in the middle. That's scheme. JDJ was a starter. There's no way Kirby pushed him out because he was too slow to cover the edge. THis is moron talk.

Our inability to win the SECCG this season is mainly due to our inside linebackers taking shitty angles and not having Dumas-Johnson out there. People suggesting that Dumas-Johnson getting "processed" is just bat shite crazy and bizarre.

Rumor has it AJ Harris might be hitting the portal. Hopefully that means Bullard and Lassiter (sp?) might be coming back?

Nothing to do with Bullard. He’s a safety. No idea why Lassiter would come back. He’s a first round projection. Maybe it means Julio Humphrey is staying despite the AtM rumors. This is another WTF entry.

Everette and Humphrey your starting CBs going to next year. Maybe he didn't want to move to Star. On3 guys mentioned that as a possibility.

Heard Humphrey may be in the portal too. That’s 17. Nearly an entire class.

Latest info I saw made it seem like he wouldn't. Never know I guess. He's been in the facility getting treatment with the team apparently

I am hopeful this means Humphrey coming back. That would be huge.

Interesting dynamic when guys with lots of playing time (especially the way we alternate) but not starters get the experience then want to transfer and make sure they start.

You have to then play young (less experienced guys) or recruit somebody else’s backup/lower level team starter if you actually have a solid starter of your own.

The new normal is turning over 30-40% of your team annually. You either portal heavy or bigger recruiting classes.

Players get a couple of years in a top program then bail on you. That trading and experience should come with a price if somebody buys them away.

This money will have to become contracts not perpetual free agency.

We may have difficulty bring guys in if they aren’t being brought in to start, day 1. A significant reason for our departures is guys who are playing but not starting who want to start. When competition for playing time is so hard that you have guys leaving for an easier path to starting, you aren’t going to attract a lot of guys who want to compete harder for playing time than they already do.

It's just our luck we finally get to the pinnacle of college football and they change the sport to a spot where its literally impossible to stockpile talent.

They should put an asterisk by every natty won before this bullshite as it would have been much easier imo

Basically means you have to land a top 3 class every year while also bringing in the best transfers. The run Bama went on with just recruiting with Saban will never happen again because they have completely destroyed the sport. Its an absolute shite show.

That shouldn't be a problem for us.

From what I understand...London Humphrey, the WR from Vandy has committed to us. He will be a sophomore (I think) has a lot of speed and should/could be a great addition.

Not sure if it’s been said here yet but I saw on social media twice in the last 5 minutes that Mondon is staying for his senior season.
