I’m sure there are some talented and successful coaches in college or pros qualified to replace Bobo. Kirby has to pull the trigger or this program won’t be able to recruit and that means losing.

Bobo had 5 years as HC at Colorado State and produced a losing record. One year as OC at Auburn and released. Two years at SC and released. But Peter Buck thinks he’s great. LOL!

Searles has to go period. His O Line has seen the biggest regression since his return. I was overly critical of the Bobo hire during every game since he's been back in the booth but still Coach Bobos position is up in the air for me. Most reasonable fans understand that after every dropped pass the next play he had in mind changes because now we're behind the sticks still owing yardage. When we get behind, it changes the entire rhythm. He can call the perfect play and put the players in great position to open up the game but he can't catch the pass for them. Every dropped pass has altered his game plan. After the defense flopped, he called an excellent second half against Bama and put us position to win. Keep Bobo as an analyst and Q.B coach or whatever. Coley no question should stay

I don’t know coach Searls and his value to the team and to the staff as a whole, as you know Coaches do more than coach. Based on results, Searl’s group performed by far the worst of any group on the team. It has been a while since I have seen so many bad reads and whiffs.
At the end of the day, he has to answer to Coach Smart for this.

Coach Smart will have to assess his full value to the team and Coach Smart. He will have to assess what went wrong and why and decide if a staff change or philosophy change are needed. Or both.

Anyone who employs people understands that you have to look at many factors before making a staff change. Sometimes it needs to be done. Sometimes its not the best path. Whatever decision Smart makes, I am confident it will have come with much strategic consideration.

It’s not so much the loss as the way we beat ourselves. O line, fumbles, kickoff return, dropped passes and mind numbing play calling throughout the season.

I watched that film guy's reel on the Kentucky game. There were a few film segments he showed guys completely lost on the OL. Missing blocks and assignments.

Searles is the real issue.

Coach Matt Luke

I'm not going that far. That oline we had against Notre Dame was his recruiting which was porous at best. He might have looked like he did good with Pittman recruits.

Searels … was a mistake to bring back.

My guess is Coach Luke leaving caught Kirby by surprise and he had to get a replacement quickly. Searels didn’t give Kirby a reason to fire him until this year.

Does anyone know another reason why Luke left instead of what was given, the standard “spend more time with family”

Obviously that wasn't true because he is coaching now

The that is on Kirby since all things roll up to him.

He should find better coaches who can clean those issues up

A record of 28-35 and they are 20-33 since.

Offensive production went down after he left.

Nope. He was retained by Beamer but left on his own to Auburn.

I'm not a hardcore Bobo supporter but you really have no credence on the subject.

I think coaching and recruiting went down after Monken left, if you don't our scheme them you have to out talent them. We fell off in both.

No doubt, Monken is the best in the business right now. We had nowhere to go but down from the coaching standpoint.

I didn't hear anything. Did he get some cash after Ole Miss let him go or was he just their interim head coach? Just things I heard is that he wasn't a great recruiter but again just stuff I heard.

Monken wasn’t big into recruiting from what I understand.

Searles is the biggest issue by far out of the three. Then Coley. Searles needs to be replaced.

Bobo isn't the issue and he isn't or shouldn't go anywhere IMO.

I have never understood the Bobo hate, but Searles always has underperforming offensive lines.
