Then why wait to announce it? It is not like Richt particularly cares what happens to UGA for his seniors last Bowl game and shot at 40 wins. Go ahead and take the interim coach if that is your plan.

BMac probably wants to be the interim coach for a game

Keeping BMac is now a priority.

frick. Who's out there for RB coach that's worth a damn?

A lot of the time a these position coaches are simply really good recruiters who are assigned a position to coach. That's why you saw Kirby and Mclendon coaching rb's for us without having played the position

This new staff stuff is starting to hurt

We had assembled the best recruiting staff in CMR's
tenure at UGA and it looks like we've lost our 3 best.

Our new staff needs to hit the ground running on the recruiting trail.Lets hope Pittman is all that he's cracked up to be.

Wonder if Smart not being in Athens may have made it easier for Richt to poach Brown?

What recruits does this hurt us with the most? Any chance we lose anybody currently committed over this?

If Richt offered what Rusty says he offered, the only way Smart could have kept Brown would be to make him the OC.

I don't think BMac and Lilly are locks to leave. Miami doesn't have that much money, lilly has a ton of mouths to feed, mcelndon is a lot further along in his career than brown was, and Miami is fricking expensive

Makes sense.

Based on the two previous offensive hires, I'd say we will likely go out and hire the fattest RB coach on the market.

I think if they were staying, it would have been announced this morning with Sherrer and Rocker.

My guess is that the new DC will be announced shortly.

RBs are the easiest of the bunch to coach... not much to it. YOU could do it and we'd be OK.

But Bmac was arguably the best one in the nation. I would feel alot better if he was still around.

Also, isn't he considered one of the best recruiters in the SEC.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. It's a good point, though. Kirby coached RBs in '05 and he was a defensive guy. Just want a rock star recruiter, who will hold serve in talent evaluation.

At least try and come off as somewhat educated.

We've had a special teams coordinator the last two seasons.

Do you know this from your years of experience coaching them? Or are you assuming you know all about coaching them since you've had more than a couple drop a hot load of baby gravy on your tramp stamp?
