Ray Goff and Ron Jirsa definitely outrank Crean
Gymnastics has had its share of poor hires after Yoc, too. Volleyball and Soccer have been mediocre at best with their hires

Crean..given that he came with such promise may not be the worst but certainly one of the most disappointing.

Jirsa, yes. Totally unfair to Goff. He was .500 or above in five of his seven seasons and was five points away from going undefeated in 1992. Crean has been a colossal failure.

This perception I never understood. If Crean couldn’t win at Indiana he wasn’t going to win here. Like expecting a failed UGA football coach to have success at Maryland.

some of yall live for hyberbole I swear. The "worst coaching hire...IN THE HISTORY OF UGA" is almost surely going to be someone we don't even know of. A womens golf or volleyball coach or some shite like that. Ray Goff? Umm..no. He had very down years but also had a 10 win season and this was in an era when we were not very good. Crean? Crean isn't even the worst hire of the mcgarity tenure! Crean had a bad 1st year which is excusable, went .500 the next yera which isn't that bad and is progress, had a winning record the next year and improved yet again in the conference standings, and now is having a woefully bad year that he will undoubtedly be fired for. That's your criteria for worst EVER? Especially knowing our history of MBB that isn't remotely close to worst ever. Also worth pointing out that he has had to deal with entire rosters being able to freely move on at a moment's notice which no other coach in our history has had to deal with.

If you'll scroll up an inch or two you'll see a brief summary of his tenure. Nowhere, not once, did I say he hasn't had a failed tenure here. What I DID say, is that he is not the "worst coaching hire in the history of UGA". You dolt.
