Well damn that sucks. Hoping for a quick recovery

So what are the long-term implications of this news? How much does it affect our OL in the grand scheme of things?

Next 3 weeks, I’d expect you’ll see Jones and Mims need to step up at OT so we can slide Jamaree into LG with Shaffer or McLendon at RG

I'm not an expert but the article linked said it was his first ever start, so it's not apocalyptic. On the other side of the coin, he earned a starting spot in this big game so he obviously doesn't suck.

It happened on play 2 or 3 so we had a plan B. I hate it for him though.

Yeah, I picked up on that, but since he was starting, I wasn’t sure there was a better option for that spot. Given that it happened so early in the game and we never really missed a beat against their DL, it seems we’re pretty loaded.

The main thing this hurts is depth. I think ideally we will now start brod Jones at lt and move Salyer to guard and Schaffer to right guard. Jones played well last night and I think our run game can be better with Salyer bulldozing at his natural fit position

Has Broderick Jones definitely passed Truss?

Well considering Truss was wearing 83 and playing TE in our heavy set then yes I believe Jones and Mims have passed him on the depth chart

The best way to describe Truss is that big tall muscular dude you went to high school with. He looks amazing but you ask him to do something athletic and he kind of stumbles over himself. Jones and Mims are much more natural athletes and better tackle prospects.

Van Pran also played well and has a very high ceiling, so we might see him remain at Center and Ericson at right guard. It would be nice if Jones or Mims can get to the point of taking over at LT soon.
Next game should provide a lot of reps for whoever is shuffled around.

Ericson should be benched… he gets pushed around too much. He was also responsible for the ONLY sack for ClemPson last night.

I disagree. Erickson played well. Considering our big worry in this game was whether our OL could stop the Clempson DL, I'd say he did very well.

Kirby made point today that they might not want to play Van Pran and Ericson full time because that's basically both our centers. Looking a lot at Jones at LT, more PT for Condon at RG and also Truss might play some at guard. Truss might make a better guard. He doesn't seem to be a LT, anyhow....
