“He’s been out there doing what we ask him to do, he’s practicing,” Smart said after Tuesday’s practice. “Banged up, it’s tough, but he’s a warrior, he’s a fighter, and we’re expecting him to be able to go, and he’s practicing.”

“It was earlier in the game, and he continued to play, and it began to hurt more and more and more after that,” Smart said. “That was kind of the culmination of that, on that play, where it was bothering him more.

“He’s had a banged up shoulder a lot of the year ….. He has played with it and dealt with it,” Smart said. “He’s been dealing with it well, and it came to a head on Saturday because he had a couple hits where he did fall on it and it bothered him.”

Someone asked a few days ago if anyone noticed that Swift seemed slower than usual this year. I guess we now know why.

Then he shouldn’t have even played vs tech. We didn’t need him then.

I really wish he wasn't that explicit about his injury.

Now that Kirby has made known the specifics of his injury, LSU is going to be hitting Swift hard to knock him out of the game.

So?? Hit them back. Why is everyone on this board acting like LSU is the greatest football team of all time? They're a good Big 12 team this year. Hard to keep up with. Nothing more, nothing less. We have the best defense UGA has ever fielded. frick LSU. Nut up men.

They were going to be hitting him hard regardless. He's the running back.

True but they’ll take more focused shots at his injured shoulder. After the first defender wraps him up, don’t be surprised when the next hits him high on that side. They’ll also coral him towards the injured-arm sideline bc he’s not switching the ball & has been stripped/fumbled carrying it in the “wrong” hand.

So a shoulder injury makes you run slower? Don’t ever remember shoulder injuries affecting my legs. Hell, if anything, I tried to run faster to change angles on contact.

He’s slower because he put on so much weight to withstand the season. It’s nothing more than that. He still has his quickness and ability to move in tight spaces, he’s just sacrificed some top end speed. No NFL team will care about that based on his game speed. His #1 concern for NFL teams was durability prior to this season. Gaining weight was a must to absorb the wear and tear.

He’s proven himself. He lost a step. He’s still a dude.

I have not said they are. Just pointing out what any team would do to get players out of the game.

The wrong hand thing is full of ifs ands and buts. Where as you should shift the ball to the sideline side of your body, the ball can pop out in the transition, it is never the worst thing in modern football where very strong men are trying to punch it out to hold it in your dominant arm.

If it were a serious injury I don’t think he would have played vs Tech.

There's a reason most coaches are coy about injuries.I had no idea his shoulder has been hurt throughout the season and it
didn't take much of hit to put em out of the game vs GT.

LSU didn't need to know the specifics.

Man, football happens so fast they aren't even going to have time to think about doing that let alone be able to execute this

Sorry for the delayed response but a question about Marietta HS.

Where did they get all these guys? 3 guys in the national top 150? 9 guys in the Georgia top 100?

I know they've been in trouble before for ineligible players and don't they have some weird rules about being able being able to enroll students outside their district? Kinda like Buford, Decatur and Rome (Schools that are their own district)

Or now they will be aiming at one shoulder and he will roll away from it and score a TD because they are concerned about hitting his shoulder and not wrapping up or stopping him....

Man, I could write a doctorate paper on all the things I've heard so it's probably best not to say much but I'll say that most of it revolves around Harrison Bailey's dad and I-Dare-U recruiting services funneling kids to Marietta. I think 20 of their 22 starters did not play for them as middle schoolers.

Also, city schools usually charge a small fee for students who live out of district to attend. Cobb, Douglas, Cherokee, and Bartow all have open enrollment so you can attend any of their schools if you live in the county and they have an open spot. You have to provide your own transportation. If you're a freshman and start their day one your eligible from day one but if you start at one school and transfer without moving then you have to sit a year from the date you enroll at the new school.

Thats what I thought but have they always done this? They've always been pretty good
but they aren't a traditional 7A metro power like Grayson,Roswell,N Gwinnett or McEachern.

Didn't know this and explains why some schools are so successful every year.
