Well, I guess that explains why he was carrying the ball in the wrong hand on the play he got knocked out - the other arm hurt too much to hold the ball?
If that’s the case, especially against a team like GT, why wouldn’t we have run Zeus about 20+ times and get him warmed up? Sure didn’t need Swifty in that game.

Thats what I thought but have they always done this?
Nope, when John Ford left Roswell they switched from their to Marietta.
MHS was pretty dang good with Coach Friday but it's been a decade or so.

You quit coaching to go into school administration or for other reasons?

My relatively small subdivision had produced three D1 prospects in just one class, another p5 prospect the following season.
Otherwise the local school only produced kids that would get D2 and HBCU looks at best. Sometimes it just happens organically.

Yeah, but they all lived in the same neighborhood. These kids live in different zip codes and didn't attend middle school in Marietta.

Sure but a public HS producing 3 guys that are in the top 150 on the country? Sorry, that ain't "organic" and Peter just confirmed it.
Im trying to think when it's happened before in GHSFB but I can't. Maybe Buford a few years back?

So all 3 played for RHS?

Oh, no. Sorry. Marietta has benefitted from Coach Ford leaving Roswell.
The only two prospects who played youth football for Marietta are Azeez and his brother BJ. The others either came during their freshman year or after.
Gilbert was at Woodward Academy before he came to Marietta.
Harrison Bailey was/is districted for Hillgrove who he played junior ball for.
BJ grew up in their system. I can't speak for the other two but he's as good a person as he is a player.

So a shoulder injury makes you run slower?
Absolutely. Depending on where and what it is, sprinting especially holding tightly to a ball uses most all your muscles and body. I had an AC tear in my shoulder and tried to sprint and it’s about impossible from pain. Your shoulders swing, your arms motion, it’s all of it.

Damn that's seedy.
Isn't Marietta HS somewhat ghetto these days? WTH are they getting all these funds
to pay these guys?
