Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett saw his first real NFL action on Thursday night in Australia.

The two-time national championship-winning UGA QB replaced fellow Dawg Matt Stafford late in the 4th quarter with the Rams down big to the 49ers.

Bennett finished the game with 13 yards on 2-of-3 passing and 9 rushing yards. Stafford went 15/25 for 155 yards, no touchdowns and 1 interception.

Bennett, 28, was drafted in the 4th round of the 2023 NFL draft.

At Georgia, Bennett won 2 natties, 2 national title MVPs, the Manning Award and the Burlsworth Award (awarded to the best college football player who began his career as a walk on).

GATA, No. 13!

The GOAT

Impressive to hold off the shiny new toy and high draft capital bama QB.

Think he will have a career in the NFL as long as he wants one as a back up.

Let's not pretend that Stafford will always be under center in LA. Dude looked rusty last night.

Yeah but I think this is Stets last year under current contract. I doubt he resigns with Rams with Simpson there.

The X factor in the entire equation is Stafford's health.

They must be concerned with Stafford's health, age and performance. I think that the old dawg is finished.

They were losing 27-7 with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter when Bennett went in the game.

Stafford won the MVP seven months ago.

Nah, I didn't see anything alarming in that game, they were just a tick off. I think coming in a few days earlier and learning the venue would help. I think that is what the 9ers did.

I know they want to protect Stafford but he did not look ready. Sitting out the preseason and then playing on the other side of the world wasn’t a great plan.

ETA: I bet the Falcons wished they had Stet right now. Going after Tua was beyond stupid.

Rams landed 28 hours before KO. Probably not the smartest decision they've made lately.
