Wonder if Kirby goes shopping for a RB, or if Frazier/Cash Jones/etc are enough depth.

I really hate this one, I was looking forward to him. Last year he stood out to me a lot more than Rod did, and with BRob still a question mark Ifigured he'd get a ton of work this yera. Oh well.

Saw a "Georgia Football Wide Receiver Enters NCAA Transfer Portal" and assumed the worst and thought it was Anthony Evans, but it turned out it was just the white guy walk-on who played at Jefferson.

Why the frick do you name your kid Braxton when your last name is Hicks? You want to remember how much fun the contractions were every time you look at him?

Anthony Evans is not going anywhere.

It took a few minutes for me to figure out wtf you are talking about.

I was speaking with one of the minor sports coaches who said Kirby constantly has upperclassmen in his office complaining that freshmen are getting more per month than they are, or underclassmen threatening to enter the portal if they don't get paid more.

I can't imagine the additional headaches this causes for someone who's working 15+ hours a day.

I think it's gonna end up pushing him and many top coaches to the NFL. I mean it's a complete mess with no way to control it. I wouldn't blame him either.

The impression I get is that this is happening everywhere. It's one reason Kirby has pushed back against bidding wars for HS recruits. That's how you win the battle and lose the war when your locker room gets toxic over money issues.

Especially after the Tennessee court ruling, some programs think they can spend their way to success, and maybe some will have short term success. The long term consequences will be ugly. I hope Kirby can continue to maintain some discipline in how much we pay kids before they earn it on the field. If necessary, let the high school prima donna with his hand out go elsewhere, and try to make it up with smart talent eval and good coaching.

I wish there was a way to tie NIL contracts to performance. Teams are badly hurt when supposed monster freshmen get big money and become embarrassing busts. I like the way Kirby is operating as opposed to how OSU is being run.

If you do that you’re still not gonna land as many big name guys as a school willing to pay before the player “proves it”. All in all there simply needs to be a salary cap per school like the pros but then that makes players employees and all that. It’s coming though. One way or the other.

If that happens, everyone just goes back under the table.

The problem isn't NIL.

The problem is transferring.

No exceptions. 1 year redshirt for all D1 to D1 transfers of undergrads.
Diploma in hand, transfer to your hearts content.

This eliminates the real problem which is "renegotiating".

It couldn't be simpler.

The combination is what does it.
Transferring allows bidding. Not being able to allows the NIL $ to be pulled and players are stuck.
