Would it have benefitted Dean to stay one more year and heal?

He wouldn’t have grown to 6-2 with orangutan arms so I doubt it would have been that beneficial. Teams must think the injury has a chance to be chronic. One year wouldn’t change that.

That game is fun….would it have benefitted Dean to stay and get injured again?

Dude left when he should have. Eagles got a steal. shite happens. The truth is, Dean had a lot of injuries, but don’t think he missed a start since his first ever start. You think he should gamble another season away of his body???

All the guys getting drafted with fresh acl and achilles issues has me perplexed. I wish Dean the best but the window for nfl money can be short so every contract matters.

Dean got robbed.

With hindsight being 20/20, he should have absolutely stayed for his senior year. But life isnt 20/20. The few good guys among the herd are almost always persecuted and shite on.

Welcome to life.

Agreed.
Jordan davis, devonte wyatt, quay walker all benefitted greatly by coming back another year.

But what's done is done.

I hate the Iggles but I will watch some games next season to see how those two perform. Only reason I ever watch the Browns is to enjoy Nick Chubb. Maybe their new QB will give him the ball more.

There eagles and Packers are my second and third favorite teams after the Falcons because of their draft picks this year

Amazes me a Linebacker from Montana State, which I follow as well as I spend a good bit of time in Bozeman, would go before a top 2-3 linebacker from a National title team from the SEC. Nothing against the MS kid, they have become a force as with their rivals in Missoula, but dang.

I swear guys at home get it as right as nfl teams do without the expensive staffs and over research.

Dean was arguably the-best player and leader of one of the best defenses in College Football history. I was shocked he went that late.

I dont follow the nfl.

I dont know what type of defensive scheme the falcons play.

Sometimes, you want 245 pound ILB.
Some schemes was 225 pound ILB.

Maybe Atlanta isnt a scheme fit.

But damn...the dirty birds could not have PR'd this draft any worse for the state of Georgia.

Shaffer over Salyer? I wouldnt care about "medical" this or that in the 6th round. Give me the guy with the best upside. Salyer is going to play on Sundays

The talk about the Montana State LBer is he was a qb and plays LBer like a qb..... Perplexing. They also so he needed to learn to be more physical.

Dude was the best linebacker in college football. One more year wouldn’t have helped him. Just us.

Not really and lets not forget that every single NFL team passed on him twice including the team who drafted 'em.

It would have been very interesting to see how well he played his senior year w/out 5 1st rounders.

Maybe having all that talent around him hurt em in the draft.

Thats the thing, he was the stick that swirled that defense and made it go.

Falcons run a multiple front but their base is 3-4.

That doesnt really address the issue at all.

Does Atlanta look for 225-230 pound linebackers or 245 pound linebackers?

How big is the defensive front? Are they 2 gapping?

Eitherway, todays nfl needs lbers that can cover fast guys in space. Dean is that guy.

He could have done a lot worse financially than being drafted where he was. If he's got the goods, it will show itself, and he'll get his real pay-day eventually.

I don't think staying another season was in his best interest, even in hindsight.

Defensive front is way too small still. I think they should have taken Davis at 8, but I think I know why they passed on Dean.

The Falcons draft picks showed that the new regime clearly emphasizes size and Dean didn't fit. I think he's going to be very, very good though and taking the Montana State project over him was a bad move, but they took the Montana State guy because he runs a 4.42 at 245 pounds; they think he is going to be able to hold up over a long period of time as a middle linebacker.
