So I was a little worried about the loss of Holyfield

At first I was worried we would miss Holyfield’s ability to end every play by falling forward 5 yards.

I’m watching highlights from last year, and I realized Brian Herrien is more than capable of that. Dude gets a ton of yards after contact.

I also think that Kenny McIntosh can be that guy in the future.

McIntosh will be 5th string this year and hopefully redshirt.

If there’s one thing I’m not remotely worried about right now it’s our running game. Crazy to think that we had guys like Brandon Harton and JJ Green start games for us this decade.

Herrien's problem in the past IMHO has been vision... he gets yards after contact because he almost seeks it out... rather than trying to elude/evade it, he just tries to find the spot where he can eke out any positive yardage... It makes him almost never a homerun threat, but definitely a good "make lemonade out of lemons" sort of back...

My hope is that in the off-season he's spent a lot of time watching film and getting better at this aspect of the game. If so, he really could have a big impact in his last year. I've always been a fan, from recruitment to now... would love to see him have a big year and maybe get picked up as a late draft pick or UDFA.

while we dont know what Zeus is going to be, between Swift, BH, and Cook I am not worried. Anything Zeus can do will be a bonus

I could be wrong, but I don’t think that, after all he’s been through, anyone can hold Zeus back. He’s a stud and studs are meant to perform. He may be used sparingly at first, but I think he and Swift will be our premier duo by the EOS. He’s tired of sitting and watching, and he probably won’t be a Sr. at UGA anyway.

This decade is just about over, and it is a totally revamped team from where it was.

This will be the third time I make this preseason prediction and I really hope it comes true this year.
Brian Herrien Goes the frick off this season. 1,000+ yard rusher.

I agree but its still an unknown until we see him do it. those are 2 big injuries to come back from without even taking a collegiate snap

Yeah, obviously. I was just pointing out that was the case in this current decade and how much things have changed. Our 5th string back is a top 250 recruit.

I love watching old condensed games on youtube (shout out to HaydenYT...don't know the guy so I'm not getting any kickbacks lol, but he does great work if you haven't checked him out) and even games that are semi-recent it's crazy to think about how far we've come from a talent standpoint. Watching games from even just 4 or 5 seasons ago and seeing major minutes from guys like josh dawson, brendan langley, devin bowman, etc. Nothing against those guys personally but those guys wouldn't even be getting commitable offers these days, much less start.

No debating that. But, from what I've learned about ACLs, and having seen friends and kids recovering from the surgeries, the knees should be structurally as good as new, maybe better. Zeus, like any RB coming back from ACL tears, well have to overcome the mental aspect of it. That will determine how well he does or doesn't do going forward. My money's on him coming back like Chubb did. I know Zeus hasn't played a down yet, but I think that will be further motivation for him.

Can you imagine spending an entire year at UGA and sitting on the sideline at Sandford?

I'd imagine that the anonymous pussy residuals are pretty good, if nothing else.
