Serious question about the SEC Rant board

Wow... I was feeling pretty bad about alot of the bad stuff I'd posted over there and decided before I leave it for good, I would just start a thread apologizing for anything I've said that was hurtful and offensive to any rival fans. Dang...I pretty much got blasted...for apologizing for being mean to them, what the!? Even some UGA fans attacked me! I didn't see that coming.
My question is, if any of you have been on there for any length of time, has anyone ever done anything like that before and if so, were they stoned like I was?
I was not trying to be sarcastic or anything. Call it my Christian conviction or just not wanting to represent UGA in a bad way or something.
Only ONE person was sincere and accepted my apology...a Bama fan of all people. So, a Bama fan embraces me and UGA fans attack me...go figure.

The SECRant is a place for people to say "Lick the butter off my dick bitch". It's not a place for civilized conversation.
Imagine going into a strip club and apologizing to all the strippers you stuffed a dollar in. You'd be hazed out the place pretty quickly.
And then ask "Why did those people treat me so badly when I just wanted to apologize?"
I think you need to dig into Psalms.

lol I suppose so. I'd said some pretty mean stuff to guys/gals over there and truthfully, after I was talking to some of you the other day on the UGA board here about Christianity and salvation and everything, I became very convicted. Maybe I'm just too nice or too much of a softy or something but I felt it wasn't becoming of someone like me, a devout Christian, to be attacking folks like that. Heck, I stand over and minister to dying people for a living. It felt very hypocritical because if one of those LSU or Florida fans was laying on their death bed, or if their mother was laying there, I would be showing them love and compassion, yet here I was insulting them and being really mean-spirited to them. I know it's all in fun to some, but you know how it is over there. There's alot of bad stuff thrown out at each other and alot of what I said, I'll admit, it was said in pure anger and malice.
I felt I should apology to everyone I've attacked.
But dang, I sure didn't think UGA fans would have assaulted me like that! Maybe there's some angry that I would show ANY kind of compassion towards our rivals.

he Rant is, as a whole, a place to troll. I go there and can get into some legitimate discussions and some arguments without getting too personal. It's not easy because some people will come at you personally, and it's easy to lose your cool. A key for me, is if I can get in a conversation and maintain my cool while pointing out how they are wrong, I think it makes me a more patient person in real life.
No matter what you say you won't change their minds, but you can point out the fallacy of their arguments and if you keep your cool can get a benefit from it, too. But I have cut way back on activity of that board and this one.
There is a board you can go to for straight forward recruiting talk if that interests you, but it is a no no to post other board links or names on here for obvious reasons.

It's not really a place for a bunch of diehard SEC fans to get together and dsicuss their teams and upcomign matchups and players to watch and stuff like that. Maybe it was at one point but that was over a decade ago. Now the average user age over there is probably 25 or younger and many of them are fake/alter accounts of people who have previously been banned. People go there to talk shite and rile up others for sport. IF you know that going in it's more palatable but just know it's not really a nice roundtable forum kinda place.
The team speicifc boards don't really act like taht for a nmber of reasons. You may be safer just sticking here.

Don't apologize for shite over there.
Also, anything that you say that is not hyping up Alabama or LSU will get a downvote.
They seem to have the most accounts on the site, alter or otherwise.
And if you hype up GA, you will get a downvote. (Who TF cares)
Maybe go to the OT or Recruiting boards for a more civilized convo. They seem to moderate those some.

and let the chips fall where they may. You can't control what other people say or do and it's not your place to. Leave that up to the God and just be content to follow. Also keep in mind the internet is full of people who hide behind the anonymity of their keyboard and make statements they would never have the courage or tactlessness to say face to face.

It's a perpetual prison gang war and there is no room for reason, logic, or compassion.
The other boards generally stay civil and have good self-moderation + actual site mods. The SECRant is strictly to let unhinged and downright dastardly thoughts out into the ether. 90% of this site (including me) need therapy, but refuse healthy outlets. So then we all end up there calling one another dumb rednecks.

You apologized and then kept criticizing posters when they didn't immediately tell you what a great guy you were for apologizing. Made it seem real insincere.
If you're serious, keep participating without posting 'bad stuff.' Be an example by how you act as opposed to how you describe yourself while apologizing. It's much harder to do, but a lot more effective if you're trying to make a point and prove you're better than this.
