Per insider from other board so take it with a grain of salt, but he is usually pretty accurate.

Wouldn’t surprise me. This has been rumored pretty heavily since the moment the title game ended, with Buster Faulkner leader in the clubhouse to take over.

I would imagine he doesn't really enjoy recruiting and is ready to go back to the pro game. Just my speculation.

Nah the guy that used to post here started his own board with another guy that has good connections apparently. Can't link it cause the cluckster gets mad. Just Google talkn Dawgs.

Their board set up sucks but he gives good info for free.

I would not mind Bobo being OC, if he was to get the job I would definitely like to see some more tempo used them when he was here before, here is an article I came across that had quite a few statistical nuggets about Bobo's offense while at UGA before, actually pretty impressive imo

quote:

Between 2007 and 2014, Georgia scored the 17th-most points (3,572) of any school in the country. Over that same timespan they rank in the top 25 in yards gained, yards per play, rushing yards and yards per carry.

They also rank in the top 50 in passing yards.

He showed the ability to adapt his offense to his strengths, ranking in the top 50 in pass yards per game in five seasons with two top 25 finishes in that statistical category.

The Bulldogs also had one year ranking in the top 25 in rushing yards per game with four more ranking in the top 50 nationally.

One of the biggest bright spots of a Bobo offense was efficiency.

They may not have put up gaudy numbers every year—although sometimes they did—but the offenses were always one of the best in the country in yards per play and yards per rush.

Bobo only had two seasons at Georgia where the Bulldogs didn’t finish in the top 50 in yards per play despite the Bulldogs averaging at least 5.6 yards per play every season he was in charge of the offense.

They finished in the top 10 on yards per play three times over his tenure, including finishing second in the country in 2012 averaging 7.1 yards per play. In 2014, the Bulldogs finished in the top 10 averaging 6.1 yards per carry on the ground.

In his eight seasons, there was only one year they didn’t average at least four yards per carry and in six of the eight seasons they averaged at least 4.5 yards per rushing attempt.

They were also efficient throwing the ball, completing 60.6 percent of passes over the span of his career, which is 13th-best among all FBS schools over that same stretch.

I would, and that's from someone who has been one of his biggest supporters

and therein lies the problem. It's practically an entirely different game now than it was when he was here. At the time brian vangorder left in 04 you coudl make a case he was no worse than 2nd, and you coudl seriously argue maybe even 1st, best DC we'd had in our history. Fast forward just a FEW years and the guy was atrocious. the game was just too different and his old school 4-3 was practically archaic. I'm not sayin gthat's apples to apples with bobo, but modern offenses now need to operate a LOT differently than they did around 2012.

We're UGA and the defending national champs...we should be able to scour the country for the absolute best avialable and somethign tells me that it isn't bobo.

Its not as much Bobo as it is some hotshot will want his own staff. Would rather have someone work within our current staff so the players arent learning a totally new staff on o.

It doesn't work like that. It's a coordinator, he's not gonna demand he bring in all his own position coaches.

Who did Monken demand to be on staff? Whoever they hire is going to coach for the defending national champs. They aren't going to get to demand much if anything at all.
