Kirby has a plan in mind. Chaney was let go.

Yes, rather clear he was encouraged to leave. You don't take a lateral move to a struggling program while you're under contract for 2 more years with a juggernaut unless the choice was made for you.

The smart money is that our next coordinators will be Derrick Ansley and James Coley.

Bobo is a sentimental idea but he's still making almost $2M a year at Colorado State (admittedly...who knows for how much longer). A little hard to see him returning to Athens to be an OC again
I think Coley is probably a lock and that Bobo comes home if he gets canned at CSU in the next 2 years

Sark's offense had issues scoring in the redzone for the Falcons last year. Considering how we had a similar issue I don't know if it'll be a good match.

Also, Enos was recently promoted to OC for Bama so I don't think he'll be coming here.

I do like the idea of Fedora. He seems to be on the radar for Miami but considering the state of both our program and Miami we're definitely in a more desirable position.

Probably will be Coley though haha.

Exactly. That’s why we created a new catchphrase sensation a few days ago that’s already sweeping the nation.

Nothing against Bobo but Smart would be traveling down the same road Richt went down if he were to hire his best buddy Bobo to run the offense. We can all remember how the defense worked out for Richt.

I disagree

had Richt's teams been bigger, better & stronger on D; he'd probably still be here

Bobo was never the problem

I'm not saying Bobo was the problem. I'm just saying it's not a good idea to hire your best buddy in a position which can have a big impact on your job as Richt did with his defensive coordinator.

Hiring your buddy is fine if he is highly competent at his job, which Bobo has proven that he is. He is a great QB coach and fine OC.

The problem with WillieMart and Van Halanger is that they were grossly incompetent at their jobs and should have never been put in their positions to begin with.

You do realize our best offenses were under Bobo right?

They were....but I still can't seem to get it out of my mind that he shite the bed against South Carolina in 2014 when he didn't GIVE GURLEY THE BALL and called a passing play that ended up being an intentional grounding on 1st and goal at the Carolina 1...and it cost us the game.

Ball was at the 4, but I get your point. That was pretty easily his worst call.

I wouldn't mind seeing Major Applewhite come on board. He's a good offensive mind and he gives us a recruiting foothold in Texas.

As for Chaney, Chip Towers reported that it wasn't that he was let go, it's that Tennessee came in with a sweet offer and UGA was unwilling to match it.

I'm getting sick of this college football business. No coaches care about honoring their contracts anymore. I mean, he was given a 100k raise last year! Clearly he doesnt care about winning a national championship, he's just gonna chase the money like Rodney Garner did because he's a greedy bastard. Imagine making 850,000$ in the city of Athens!!! How much more do you need Chaney?! Don't you want to coach the best players?! College Football is a business now, this is ridiculous.

It has been trending this way for a long time. It has become very corporate.

Pretty sure Major banged one of his player’s girlfriends... I like that.

I have no idea what you do for a living, but I would assume if someone offered to double your salary tomorrow and your current employer said “nah”, that you would probably make the move.

I love my current company and make enough money to support my family and be very happy. If I get a phone call today to go do the same job across town for double the money, I’m gone.

I can guarantee you Tennessee did not double his salary. What I can say is that I wouldn't switch jobs from Apple to Pandora for only slightly more. I'd stay at Apple because there is better talent and I could accomplish more in the long run.

Dude, let Pruitt's dumb arse chase fat chaney up with $1.6MM. It's ridiculous. Mediocre OC for that much money - kudos to UGA for saying sionara. And also, Chaney does not recruit. This will be exposed as a major faux pas along what will ultimately be the disaster hire of Pruitt. Nobody is going to re-design the coaching market so that Chaney caliber is $1.6MM. Just stupid all day. Let the Vols celebrate, the funniest thing is they know EXACTLY what they are getting for $1.6MM and did it anyway. True desperation.

Welp, he was making $850K at UGA (maybe a little more if he got a recent bump) and UT just gave him $1.6M so....
