Saw he was a pretty highly recruited kicker coming out of high school but haven't heard much about him since. Anyone have updates?

He's had a couple nagging injuries, but I think him and Ham are interchangeable right now. Not really sure who to expect to be honest. If I had to guess, I would say Ham will take the first FG attempt of the season, but expect RB to kick some as well.

Haven't heard anything (good or bad) but he may not even be the starting kicker. Could easily be William Ham.

We also don't know who the punter will be. Based on what I've read, it sounds like Marshall Long has been more consistent but doesn't have the hang-time Ramsey has. Ramsey also adds a passing possibility to the punt formation that opposing coaches would always have to consider.

My guess is that all 4 kickers will see the field this year at some point in time.

isn't ham the one that kicked a FG into the snappers butt at G-Day? Granted that was a one time thing, but sure didn't inspire confidence.

I thought the walkon Wassen that decided on us over bama was supposed to be in the mix, anyone heard about him?

I noticed that although Blankenship made some kicks on G day, they were low line drives. That could be a problem.

I don't understand that. How does someone get a scholarship for kicking and not be able to kick? Its not like the goals get smaller or something, the competition level never changes for kicking a field goal, just the pressure.

I saw on the MSB that r.aguayo from FSU, that kicker who was an all american for basically his whole career and 2nd round pick, is barely hanging on to a roster spot. Been missing all over the place in practice and preseason games.

Sometimes kickers just dont' adjust well to the extra pressure I guess? Who knows.

Oh. I thought college and highschool goal posts were the same. Still, accuracy should be a trait schools look for regardless of goal size.

Is there a tee versus no-tee thing between high-school and college?

Yes, you get to use a 1" tee in hs but kick off the ground in college. Makes a difference.

Surely schools check out your off the ground kicks before giving out a scholarship?
